ASTRO’s Moonbin tragically passed away on April 19, 2023, at his residence in Gangnam, Seoul. He was reportedly discovered dead by his manager, who immediately alerted the local police. Korean police ruled out murder during their initial investigation and declared it a case of suicide. The news was shortly confirmed by the singer’s agency, Fantagio, which requested fans not to fall for malicious or speculative reporting and keep his family and loved ones in their prayers.

May 19 marked exactly a month since ASTRO’s Moonbin passed away, and the tributes continue to pour for the late idol. Likewise, popular Korean variety show The Return of Superman also paid tribute to ASTRO’s Moonbin with a heartfelt brief message. The letter stated:

“When the dandelion flower seeds flutter every year, saying that spring has come, we will remember Moonbin. May he rest in peace.”

ASTRO’s Moonbin had guested on The Return of Superman alongside maknae Sanha

ASTRO’s Moonbin and groupmate Yoon Sanha had appeared on the popular Korean variety show The Return of Superman earlier this year when they went to a strawberry field with one of the children. On the show, the two idols cuddled the toddler and even fed him some delicious strawberries.

It was one of the promotional activities for the duo’s joint subunit called ‘Moonbin & Sanha’ and their third mini-album, INCENSE, which was released on January 4 of this year. Unfortunately, this also marks ASTRO’s Moonbin’s last subunit with Sanha and overall last piece of music release before his untimely demise.

In the tribute episode, ASTRO’s Moonbin and Sanha were given a corner to explain heartwarming moments from their episode and how they loved visiting the strawberry farm with the adorable toddlers.

Finally, towards the end, the screen goes dark, and the above-mentioned tribute message is shown on screen at the end of the video portion. Following this, ASTRO fans took to social media to react to The Return of Supermans tribute to the Perfumer singer.

The Dandelions reference in the message has a special connection to ASTRO’s Moonbin and the group as well. Not only was it Moonbin's last post on Twitter but he also expressed his state of mind at that point in time upon seeing the beautiful white flowers. He wrote:

“Aroha, they’re dandelion seeds!!! They’re dandelion seeds~ Ride the wind and spread far and wide!”

For those unversed, the flowers represent the sun, the moon, and the stars in different stages of their cycle. It is also symbolic to ASTROs and AROHAs and denotes strength, beauty, hope, growth, affirmation and nourishment and can thrive and survive under the most difficult and harsh weather circumstances.

Additionally, they indicate the arrival of spring after the gloomy winter season, which means that happy days (spring) is around the corner and unhappy days (winters) are long gone and left behind. Naturally, fans were touched to discover such a heartfelt message from the late singer.

The makers of The Return of Superman used the analogy to pay their final tribute to ASTRO member Moonbin.

ASTRO’s Moonbin fans pay tribute to the late singer since one month death anniversary

As mentioned earlier, May 19 marked one month death anniversary of ASTRO’s beloved singer and dancer Moonbin, who tragically passed away, leaving his family, friends, and fans shocked by his untimely demise. After this, fans held vigils and memorials for the talented idol. To pay one month death anniversary tribute to the Perfumer singer and remember his best memories, AROHAs took to social media yesterday and tweeted sweet messages about Moonbin.

Fantagio announced that the Perfumer singer’s memorial has now been extended until June 6 and shifted to the rooftop of the same building. Additionally, they assured fans that their handwritten letters, notes, gifts, and snacks dedicated to the late ASTRO member will be preserved by the company for eternity.
