How did MrBeast Burger begin?
MrBeast announced on December 19, 2020, that he would be opening 300 restaurants in the US. He did this via Twitter and YouTube. He tweeted the following: "I just launched 300 restaurants nationwide! Just go on your favorite delivery app and order a MrBeast Burger! WE’VE BEEN WORKING ON THIS FOR FOREVER, AND IM SO EXCITED!" Beast Style, Chris Style, Chandler Style, Carl's Grilled Cheese, and Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich are the five burgers initially offered by Mr. Beast Burger.
The delivery-only restaurant brand was introduced through a partnership between MrBeast and Virtual Dining Concepts. According to a press release from Virtual Dining Concepts, the menu was created to work with "any restaurant kitchen." According to the MrBeast website, the MrBeast Burger locations are designed to "add a new source of revenue without impacting the operation" for restaurant owners.
How did MrBeast Burger expand globally?
Plans for MrBeast Burger locations have been announced ever since the chain's debut. Fans who didn't live in the delivery areas complained, and Donaldson acknowledged the problem and said there were plans to double and triple the number of locations.
Early in February 2021, the first locations in Canada—in Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary—opened. Subsequently, Vancouver, Halifax, and Winnipeg also got their first stores. Five locations were the first to open in the United Kingdom (UK) in early May.
Donaldson announced on August 30, 2022, that he would open his first restaurant in the United States at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey, close to New York City. The restaurant opened on September 4, 2022, and thousands of customers flocked to the mall as a result. New Jersey state troopers were eventually called in to manage the crowds.
How was MrBeast Burger received?
MrBeast Burger received mixed reviews when it first opened. Many patrons voiced their opinions on Twitter, with some praising the chain and others criticizing it for its unsatisfactory customer service, lengthy wait times, and unattractive presentation. In addition, claims that chains were serving raw food came to light. On their YouTube channel, "Jolly," YouTubers Josh Carrott and Ollie Kendal sampled the takeout menu. One hamburger was displayed being placed on a stale bun.
Many customers attempted to get in touch with Donaldson to voice their complaints, but others defended Donaldson and placed the blame on the restaurants filling the orders. Orders are prepared by employees of the contracted restaurant because the chain is run as a ghost kitchen; as a result, the quality of an order may vary depending on the location from which it was placed.
Donaldson responded to the criticisms on Twitter, writing: "I’ll be the first to admit we are not perfect!...Some people had problems, and I will gladly refund them and do what I have to to make it right!"
