Over 300 lucky Korean ARMYs who attended the D-DAY: Movie Night event received customized, exclusive gifts from BTS’ SUGA. At the Saturday, May 20, event, much to the delight of the 350 fans, the Haegeum rapper gave them souvenirs that were both adorable and expensive.
For the millions of international fans who weren’t able to get into the events, envy reigned high. The Korean ARMYs who attended BTS’ SUGA’s highly-anticipated movie night event posted photos of their gifts, leading to chaos in the fandom. These presents included a cat-themed envelope seal, enamel pins, a rare photocard, and even a few items from the luxury brand Valentino.
Since making their solo debuts, some BTS members have ensured gifting the few lucky fans who get to attend their special events gifts to remember them by. Previously, RM and Jimin gave fans lovely gifts and it seems that the Haegeum rapper did not want to be left behind.

Since the announcement of D-DAY: Movie Night fan event a month ago, fans were sure that BTS’ SUGA was going all out to spend time with ARMYS. It was the first offline fan event in several years where fans saw the Haegeum rapper in-person. Co-members RM and Jimin made their offline fan meetings special in their own ways, and the 30-year-old rapper also made sure to make it a night to remember.
Only 350 lucky fans were chosen to attend the D-DAY: Movie Night event in person on May 20. Photos of BTS’ SUGA performing Haegeum in a suit took over Twitter as fans gushed over the fan meeting. Apart from the pictures and media that went viral, pictures of the idol’s gifts to the attendees also attracted many eyeballs.
The gifts were reflective of the Haegeum rapper’s representative animal, a cat, and included things that could only be kept as souvenirs to actually useful items in daily life. As per the many Korean ARMYs who posted photos of the presents on Twitter, the gift basket included:
- An envelope with a kitten seal
- A D-DAY: Movie Night ticket
- A photocard with the opening verse of Dope tweaked - “Welcome, first time to SUGA’s Movie Night?”
- An adorable cat ear pose exclusive photocard
- Four D-DAY themed pins, one of which includes a cat
Additionally, as the brand ambassador of the Italian luxury fashion house Valentino, BTS’ SUGA gave fans two items from it as well:
- A Valentino Donna Born In Roma perfume
- A Valentino bag
Moreover, some seat numbers were called out at the fan meeting and were given signed polariods of the Haegeum rapper.
Fans’ reaction to receiving personalized and rare gifts from BTS members ranged from being happy to being envious. They were also reminded of the long journey BTS’ SUGA has undergone -- from the time when the rapper bought gifts from his own money and carefully packed them with his own hands to now gifting expensive Valentino items.
BTS’ SUGA wrapped up his US leg of the SUGA | Agust D Tour on May 17, 2023. He will now begin the Asia leg on May 26, starting from Indonesia.
