Popular YouTuber, Joey Graceffa, recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with skin cancer. Posting a video on August 8, 2024, on multiple social media handles, he shared the news with his followers and shared how he had to get a biopsy done to determine if the redness near his nose was actually skin cancer.

However, in the latter half of the video, Joey Graceffa mentioned that he is too scared to get surgery done, and hence would consider other options he read about on the internet, like applying castor oil, or aloe vera. He stated in his video:

“As she was explaining the process, I was passing out on the phone. I was like ‘How long does that take?’, to which she replied, ‘It is going to be like three hours.’ So if I passed out just from 40 seconds of the biopsy, how am I going to last 45 minutes? I don’t know. So, I’m looking at other options right now. There’s some natural treatments that I’ve read about. Like castor oil, there’s aloe vera."

However, as soon as his video reached the realms of social media, many criticised the fact that he was spreading misinformation about using natural products like castor oil and aloe vera to treat a deadly disease like skin cancer. As a Reddit user posted about the same on the platform, one social media user commented:

“I literally passed out in the chair when the biopsy happened” - Joey Graceffa shares his experience with cancer-related procedures

Joey Graceffa left social media users shocked when he revealed that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer after he had a small bruise on his nose for over a year.

Claiming how he had been to several dermatologists over the few months, Joey Graceffa claimed that many of the doctors claimed that it was nothing more than a broken and ruptured blood vessel. However, one doctor doubted that it could be skin cancer and, hence, recommended Joey to get a biopsy done.

Sharing his experience about the same, Joey Graceffa said:

"So I have skin cancer, um, that’s fun. No, it’s not fun at all actually, you can see it right there on my nose. It looks really crazy right now because I had to get a biopsy done to determine that it was skin cancer. I literally passed out in the chair when the biopsy happened. Not because it hurt or anything but just because I am so queasy when it comes to anything gore or blood-related."

As Joey shared the sad news and the fact that he would be applying natural products to treat it, many social media users advised him to get proper medical treatment, as cancer is not a disease to be neglected. Other fans and followers also wished him a speedy recovery. However, at the moment, the YouTuber has not reacted to the comments and wishes of the masses.

Joey Graceffa, with over 9.39 million subscribers on YouTube, creates vlogs and shows the daily bits of his life. Furthermore, he also has another channel, which mainly focuses on video games and has a great number of subscribers of over 2 million.

He was also seen in the YouTube premium web series Escape the Night with other YouTubers like Shane Dawson, Timothy DeLaGhetto, Lele Pons, and even Justine Ezarik.
