Meanwhile, in a recent Weverse Live, the idol mentioned that he has been working on new music and is uncertain when it's going to be released. He also mentioned that the music may release when he will get enlisted in the military, likely during the following year.

Ever since the video was uploaded by the aforementioned producer, excitement among fans has skyrocketed, who are now eagerly awaiting the latest music from the idol. Moreover, the artist himself has also mentioned that his new music will be highlighting his rockstar era.

Kim Namjoon released his first ever official and third solo album INDIGO on December 2, 2023, where he talked, as if in a diary, about the experiences and stories he has collected in his life, as reported by the music company supporting the artist, HYBE LABELS. The album has been described as an archive of his twenties and consists of ten tracks.

He has also collaborated with many renowned singers for his aforementioned album including Youjeen, Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Tablo of Epik High, Kim Sa-wol, and others. Fans loved his singles Wild Flower and Lonely the most because of the their relatable and heart-wrenching lyrics.
