Swiss food company Nestlé has abruptly fired Chief Executive Officer Laurent Freixe due to his failure to disclose a "romantic relationship" with a "direct subordinate," which reportedly violated the company's code of conduct. After a report was filed through the whistleblowing channel, a second investigation was launched, this time with the help of outside counsel.The claims were found to be true, and Freixe was fired with "immediate effect" with no exit package. In a statement announcing the news, Paul Bulcke said:"This was a necessary decision. Nestlé's values and governance are strong foundations of our company.
