Ashley Johnson 39 and Brain Wayne Foster, 40, have reportedly been in a relationship for over a decade after they met sometime in 2012. The former couple announced their engagement in 2018 through Instagram.

In 2021, the Blindspot actress also posted a message celebrating their ninth anniversary. While social media feeds hinted at a blissful union, the relationship appeared to have soured in the ensuing years. A legal document filed by Ashley Johnson on May 19, 2023, stated that the actress feared for her life after an ex-boyfriend (Foster) allegedly committed “countless” acts of terror against her and her family.

As per the document, Ashley Johnson reportedly obtained an emergency restraining order against Foster on May 15 after he attempted to extort $150,000 from the actress. The document also detailed years of verbal abuse and unhinged behavior stemming from chronic narcotics use. In the document, Johnson stated:

“May 15, 2023, the police issued an (Emergency Protective Order) due to (Brian) having attempted to extort $150,000 from me (television/film actress), his history of verbal abuse, his very unhinged mind from his addictive use of narcotics and several other reasons."

In the filing, the actress said that she has been unsuccessfully trying to break up with the host of "Talks Machina '' for over two years but managed to call it quits in April 2023.

Johnson believed that after the breakup Foster was “close to the edge, has the ability to murder, and will cause harm not only to me but to them.”

In the court filing, Johnson also accused Foster of changing the passwords to her home Ring cameras after a fight earlier this year and also cited a history of domestic and verbal abuse.

“On April 21, 2023, the respondent locked me out of the Internet, and access to all of my devices; a few weeks or so before that respondent blocked me from the Internet, access to all of my devices, including my cameras. My mother, my family, my friends, and others contact me out of fear for my life. I was terrified. I vacated my home and stayed with my family.”

Ashley Johnson accused Foster of issuing veiled threats through social media. The actress referenced a photo posted by her former partner on Instagram of her two dogs, with a comment saying, “Robert Blake Garden.”

The reference reportedly terrified the actress, as Garden, Emmy award-winning performer, was tried and acquitted in killing his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, in the 2000s.

Johnson said that on May 15, after police issued the emergency restraining order against Foster, he left behind a bag in her house which contained "garotte and several airsoft guns.” Johnson also said that Foster began carrying the bag right after they broke up earlier this year in an attempt to frighten her.

Multiple reports stated that a judge granted Jonson’s request and ordered Foster to stay 500 yards away from the actress until a hearing in June 2023.
