Lily Tucker-Pritchett is the adopted daughter of gay couple Cameron Tucker and Mitchell Pritchett in the show. The character was first introduced in the first episode of the show after Cameron and Mitchell surprised their family by holding baby Lily in their arms and revealing that they adopted a baby. Lily is Vietnamese by ethnicity in the show. Mitchell and Cameron named her after the daughter of Charlotte from the HBO series Sex and the City and Cam's pig "Aunt Lily."

Why did Jaden and Ella Hiller leave the show after the first two seasons?

According to the mother of the identical twins who played Lily on the show first, both the twins did not enjoy acting and hence the twins retired early from the acting industry. The simple answer to this is that the girls wanted to be the kids they were and wanted to do what other kids normally do at their age. Hence they left the show and Aubery Anderson-Emmons took their place.
