It all started in May 2017 when the veteran journalist Dave Meltzer made a comment that the Ring of Honor could not sell 10,000 tickets for a professional wrestling event.

Cody and The Young Bucks, who were top stars signed to the ROH then, buckled for the challenge. In September 2018, they promoted and organised an independent wrestling event called "All In" which turned out to be a massive success.

'All In' created a lot of buzz and fans adored the idea of such large-scale indie shows in the future.

The ambitious trio of Cody and The Young Bucks started working on creating their own wrestling promotion and on 1st Jan 2019, All Elite Wrestling, LLC (AEW) was officially formed with the partnership of Jacksonville Jaguars owners Tony Khan and Shahid Khan.

The realm of pro-wrestling is abuzz with the competition between WWE and AEW. With popular names like Chris Jericho, The Young Bucks, Cody, Pentagon Jr, Britt Baker and Pac (formerly Neville) to name a few, AEW is deservingly being recognized as a tough rival promotion for WWE.

Widely regarded as one of the finest in-ring workers and even considered by many as the best in-ring worker in the present time, Kenny ''The Cleaner'' Omega has recently announced that he has officially signed with the AEW. With this move, AEW continues to create buzz and an impressive locker room.

There have been speculations of Dean Ambrose joining the AEW since he is leaving the WWE in April and about Randy Orton's chances of joining the AEW.

While AEW's first wrestling event 'Double or Nothing' won't happen until May 25th, I can't help but get excited about the idea of WWE vs AEW fantasy matches not involving Kenny Omega given the phenomenal talent pool both the promotions have so far. Let's take a look.

#1 Christopher Daniels vs AJ Styles

These two have created magic whenever they have shared a ring
These two have created magic whenever they have shared a ring

Christopher Daniels is one of the most amazing performers to ever grace this industry. He has competed in almost every single major promotion around the globe except WWE.

Even at the age of 48, he is as good as new and can put on some wrestling classics as he has done throughout his career.

In 2005, he was involved in a classic feud with AJ Styles in TNA. Both of them wrestled some incredible matches and put TNA on the map. Daniels competed with Styles and Samoa Joe in a phenomenal triple threat match back in 2005 which received a 5-star rating from Dave Meltzer.

Styles and Daniels are two of the best in-ring performers in this business. A match between these two almost guarantees that you will be forced to jump out of your seats in awe and excitement. In a battle of Styles Clash and Angel's Wings, fans will be the real winners.

#2 SCU vs The New Day

This will be very interesting

We all know how good the trio of the New Day is, on the mic and in the ring. Over the years, irrespective of being a heel or a babyface group, the New Day stable has proved its mettle both in and out of the ring. The same can be said about the SCU who are incredible at what they do.

SCU (So Cal Uncensored) is the trio of Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels.

These veterans have been working with each other around the globe for a long time. Whether its in-ring work, mic skills or hilarious segments, these guys have it all and they are admired throughout this industry.

If these two teams ever lock horns, pro-wrestling fans will be in for a treat. Well-versed in their respective wrestling, these two teams can entertain you thoroughly and can force you to let out the deafening loud chants of SCU! and New Day Rocks!

#3 Pentagon Jr. vs Rey Mysterio

Now this will be a contest for ages
Now this will be a contest for ages

The news of Pentagon Jr. joining the AEW created a lot of happy buzz among the fans. Pentagon Jr aka Penta OM has earned accolades and respect throughout his wrestling career.

Having wrestled for notable promotions like CMLL, Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling to name a few, his daredevil style of wrestling and the fact that he is as good a character as an in-ring performer, has led the AEW to offer him a contract to strengthen their roster.

Rey Mysterio is a household name. Even a lot of people who don't watch pro-wrestling have heard about him.

The Master of the 619 has revolutionized this industry and glorified what it means to be a luchador. Ever since his return to WWE, Mysterio has been in the shape of his life and is even better in the ring than he was 10 years ago.

His recent matches with Andrade show how true of a legend Rey indeed is. His match with Pentagon Jr. can be a show-stealer. The execution of 619 and Pentagon Driver would leave you awe-struck and wanting for more.

#4 Joey Janela vs The Velveteen Dream

Charisma, Wrestling, Entertainment... Name it and this match will do justice
Charisma, Wrestling, Entertainment... Name it and this match will do justice

Joey Janela is a familiar name if you are a fan of independent wrestling. Famous for a style of wrestling that became popular during the ECW days, Joey can leave you speechless with his high-risk, high-reward style mixed with the touch of hardcore wrestling.

Having wrestled for promotions like CZW, Progress Wrestling and PWG, Joey has earned a unique position in the indie scene. He was one of the first signees of the AEW.

On the other hand is the charismatic and innovative Velveteen Dream who has sprung to stardom in a very short amount of time.

Not only he has been a revelation when it comes to character portrayal but he has also been quite amazing when it comes to in-ring work.

These two can certainly paint a piece of art in the ring for the fans with their wrestling capabilities and incredible character justice.

#5 The Young Bucks vs The Usos

Battle of Superkicks and high-flying moves
Battle of Superkicks and high-flying moves

The Bucks have been a super successful tag team. They have won a lot of gold in almost every major non-WWE promotion there is.

They are so successful that they have turned down fat paycheque-cladded WWE offers and have inspired other wrestlers that they don't necessarily need WWE in order to earn more and to be more successful.

On the other hand is the underrated duo of Jimmy and Jay Uso. Every time the Usos have stepped up in the ring, they have wrestled with their hearts.

Not only they have been good on the mic but they have been terrific in the ring right from the bell rings. Over the years, they have wrestled some fantastic matches with the likes of New Day and The Bar.

If the Uso Penitentiary ever hosts the Young bucks, they will bring the Superkick party as well, much to the delight of fans in attendance and watching at home.

#6 The Young Bucks vs The Revival

This match can blow the roof off
This match can blow the roof off

Well, this match has truly been one of the most anticipated dream matches in recent times. The brotherly duo of Nick and Matt Jackson, commonly referred to as the Young Bucks, have revolutionized the independent wrestling and this business in general.

There has been quite a friendly banter between these two teams. If you are familiar with the hit youtube show "Being The Elite", then you must be familiar with the hilarious jibes taken by Cody, Bucks and the-then Bullet Club towards The Revival. Catch-phrases like FTR followed them everywhere they went and trended on social media.

Friendly banter aside, both these teams respect each other and have expressed mutual desire to wrestle some day.

The Revival and The Bucks are mind-blowing in the ring and if these two tag teams ever collide, the loud chants of 'Fight Forever' will certainly blow the roof off.
