What's the story?

Dave Meltzer of WON (via Cagesideseats.com) has stated that Dean Ambrose is good friends with Cody and Chris Jericho, thus making AEW a possible landing place for the former WWE Champion.

There has been a lot of speculation regarding Ambrose's future once he is done with WWE after his contract expires in April, and this further adds to the possibility of The Lunatic Fringe joining the upcoming promotion AEW which already has big names like Cody, Jericho, and Pac (Neville) on board.

In case you didn't know...

Dean Ambrose lost his recently won Intercontinental Championship to Bobby Lashley after a very short reign which led to speculation regarding the poor booking of Ambrose.

Things became clear when it was reported that Ambrose is not planning to re-sign with WWE once his contract expired in April. Even WWE sent out an official notification confirming the same.

This week on RAW, Seth Rollins defeated Ambrose putting an end to their short-lived feud.

The heart of the matter

With the upcoming launch of All Elite Wrestling spearheaded by Cody and The Young Bucks, there has been a lot of buzz around WWE wrestlers wanting to jump ship, and Ambrose could be one of the first ones to do so.

Ambrose, as well as his fan, s were upset with his booking and felt that WWE was not able to utilize the full potential of the Grand Slam Champion.

Apparently, AEW is offering lucrative contracts to stars and Dean Ambrose's friendship with Cody and Jericho could be a strong reason for him to go to AEW.

What's next?

It is unlikely that Dean Ambrose will play a major role in WWE till his contract expires as he has already made it clear he does not plan to continue with the company.
