AEW All Out: Ranking each match from the night

All Elite Wrestling has just had its biggest show to date, and while there was definitely negatives on the show, it's safe to say that the brand new company smashed it out of the park. From beginning to end, the show was packed with fantastic action, and although a few things definitely fell flat, the show offered something for everyone, and it's a positive step forward yet again for All Elite Wrestling.

If you didn't believe in AEW before now, All Out should have convinced you, as each match had something to enjoy, but today, we are going to take a deeper dive into the show than that. So without further ado, sit back and read along as we look back on one of the best days in recent wrestling memory, to Chicago Illinois and countdown each and every match from AEW: All Out, worst to best.

#10 The Dark Order def. Best Friends

While there's no doubting the talent of all 4 of these men, this match just didn't click, and that's likely because the characters of Stu Grayson and Evil Uno, The Dark Order just haven't worked in AEW so far. While the gimmick is a simple and a good idea, it just hasn't been executed to this point, and with the push, they are receiving, it just isn't translating into good crowd reactions.

The team of Trent and Chuckie T, however, are incredibly over, but the fans clearly don't buy into The Dark Order, and that hurt the heat that this match could have gained, but ultimately, the 'spooky perverts' were victorious. After the bout, the creepers attempted to carry Trent away until Orange Cassidy appeared to save the day, and while that was a fantastic moment, it shouldn't have been the highlight of this match. Sadly though, it was.

#9 Casino Battle Royale

The Casino Battle Royale back at Double or Nothing was quite polarising, but this time around, All Elite Wrestling certainly got it right, as they delivered a solid Battle Royale with some great moments. Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Mercedes Martinez and Bea Priestley were all treated as stars, and seeing appearances from the likes of ODB, Martinez and Tenille Dashwood made the match quite exciting, although the format hinders those shock moments a little.

The end came down to Priestley, Baker and Rose, but due to the problems between Priestley and Baker, they ended up losing sight of The Native Beast, who capitalised to punch her ticket to AEW on TNT October 2. There may not have been any amazing moments throughout, and the Casino Battle Royale still needs some work to be as polished as AEW would hope, but this was a great step forward after Double or Nothing.

#8 Private Party def. Angelico & Jack Evans

This match was quite overlooked heading into All Out, but given how smooth, quick and downright impressive both of these teams are, it's no surprise that they put on a fun contest on the All Out Buy In. It's been clear since their performance at Fyter Fest that All Elite Wrestling have been getting behind Private Party, and this performance and great victory was yet another piece of proof that this is smart business.

Angelico and Jack Evans, on the other hand, have yet to make their mark in AEW, but with an attack from behind on Private Party following this contest, they may have found their spot as a heel tandem going forward. This one was a great first win for Private Party in AEW, and heading into the AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament, this is some great momentum and could propel the crowd favourites to a very deep run.

#7 SCU def. Jurassic Express

SCU and the duo of Jungle Boy and Luchasauras have been two of the hottest acts in AEW since Double or Nothing back in May, and on this night, they were tasked with opening All Out, and boy did they deliver. While the lack of stakes or true heat between the teams certainly hurt the contest somewhat, the crowd were incredibly hot for it, especially the hot tag of Luchasauras, which may have got the biggest reaction of the night.

With Orange Cassidy seemingly joining the Best Friends, AEW have quite the trios division forming, and given the quality of this bout, the future is definitely bright for all the men involved here. Given the AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament that is on the horizon, both teams have gained great momentum towards victory there, and while this isn't a can't miss contest, it's a fun way to learn more about these 6 men while watching great action.

#6 Cody def. Shawn Spears

Without a doubt, this match had the most build in the lead up to All Out, and while the heat was definitely on in Chicago, the match itself just didn't deliver from an in-ring standpoint. It was MJF that Cody chose to be in his corner, and the storytelling of the veteran Blanchard vs. MJF on the outside was a great one, but there was just too much going on to let this bout be great.

The moment that Arn Anderson appeared to deliver his signature spine buster was electric, and the post match tease of an MJF turn was enough to make this one enjoyable, but it just didn't live up to the hype. That's two big singles wins and a great draw against Darby Allin for Cody in AEW so far, so come Full Gear on November 9, he may be the one to challenge Chris Jericho, but it leaves us wondering where Shawn Spears now stands in All Elite Wrestling.

#5 Riho def. Hikaru Shida

After Nyla Rose won the Casino Battle Royale earlier in the night, these two performers knew what awaited the winner on October 2, and they both fought their hardest to take part in that historic bout. This was a high energy contest throughout, and given her size and likability, it was good to see Riho fighting from underneath, as she's become a true fan favourite early on in the list of All Elite Wrestling.

While Shida is clearly a superstar in the making, Riho has been great since AEW began, and while many expected this to be the result, Riho still shocked the crowd by rolling up the bigger Hikaru. With the history between Rose and Riho in AEW so far, the contest on the first AEW on TNT episode is going to be fantastic, and it's safe to say that the roof will blow off the building if Riho can do the impossible.

#4 Chris Jericho def. Hangman Page to become the first-ever AEW World Champion

While this was a historic match for All Elite Wrestling, many people were overlooking it heading into All Out, but both men worked incredibly hard to put on a great contest worthy of the main event. This match had a big fight feel from the video package and Hangman entering on a horse to the final moments, but ultimately, it was the veteran Jericho that made AEW history on this night.

The chemistry between the two men was quite surprising, given the lack of consistency in the build, but it was a great contest from start to finish, and very much felt very high stakes. Despite being busted open and playing on the defensive for most of the match, it was the G.O.A.T that kicked out of a Dead Eyes before a brilliant counter into the Judas effect got him the 1-2-3, netting him yet another historic Championship.

#3 Jimmy Havoc def. Joey Janela and Darby Allin

Given the style of all 3 of these men, we all knew what to expect with the Crackerbarrel Clash, and all 3 performers absolutely delivered in a brutal contest. The match started with Jimmy Havoc stapling himself to send a message to the other two, but it was the former Progress Champion that came out on top, as he managed to avoid the most damage throughout the contest.

Allin took yet another breathtaking Coffin Drop, this time with a Cracker Barrel on the steel steps, as well as a brutal move from Janela through a table, and if you enjoy hardcore wrestling, this could have been your favourite match of the night. All 3 men did a fantastic job of getting over in this contest, and if AEW can capitalise on their momentum, we may see 3 huge stars come AEW on TNT in October.

#2 PAC def. Kenny Omega

Image result for all out pac vs kenny omega

This was one of the most anticipated matches on the card heading into All Out, and despite going on second, this was a main event style match that lived up to the hype in every way imaginable. The announcers did a fantastic job of telling the story that PAC has been overlooked for years, while Kenny was trying to find his footing in AEW, and through 23-minutes, both men did amazing work.

While it may not have been the fast-paced bout some people expected, the selling was incredible, as both men sold every big move as a potential match ended, but ultimately, it was PAC who surprised us all. Locking in The Brutaliser as a counter to the One Winged Angel, The Bastard forced the referee to stop the contest as he put The Cleaner to sleep, and it sets him up as a potential huge star for All Elite going forward.

#1 Lucha Bros (c) def. The Young Bucks - Escalara De La Meurte for the AAA Tag Team Championships

Image result for all out young bucks vs lucha bros

While this match didn't entail the most psychology or storytelling, it was a thrilling car crash from beginning to end, and the crowd in Chicago ate it all up. All 4 men showed off their ridiculous talent, risk-taking and smooth wrestling skills in one of the most exciting ladder matches of all-time, and the highlights will be replayed for years and years to come.

Heading into the match, it seemed like this would be the end of their amazing rivalry, and with the debut of LAX following the contest, that seems to be the case even more now. It's a match you need to see, as there are incredible spots from beginning to end, and while some will criticise it for being a spot-fest, it was a fantastic match that stole the show on this night.
