The Lucha Bros had a huge challenge ahead of Rebellion in Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake
The Lucha Bros had a huge challenge ahead of Rebellion in Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake

Last week's episode of Impact Wrestling ended in shocking fashion when the senior referee John E Bravo revealed that he had been on the side of Impact Heavyweight Champion Johnny Impact from the get-go. Since Impact Wrestling Homecoming, we've seen many strange calls from the ref, including pinning Brian Cage down even though his shoulder was up when facing Killer Kross.

After last week where Bravo took out Cage's knee to prevent the Drill Claw, saving Johnny Impact, the entire situation has now been revealed. Impact and Taya Valkyrie have had the head referee in their pockets for months, if not longer. Where does the company go from here? Will Bravo be fired?

We'd get to that later, but tonight, the show kicked off with the Smokeshow herself, Scarlett Bordeaux teaming with Fallah Bahh to face off against the Desi Hit Squad.

Bahh started off the match with Rohit. Rohit threw several strikes to the head, but Bahh was unphased. A shoulder tackle took him down to his ring, forcing him to tag in Raj. The bigger man had better luck with Bahh, damaging him with a spinning back kick. However, Bahh took him down and connected with a leg drop.

Bahh then tagged in Bordeaux. Raj refused to fight her and tagged in Rohit, who demanded that she leave the ring. After Bordeaux declined, Raj was tagged back in. The Desi Hit Squad argued with both the ref and Gama. To get the action going again, Bordeaux tagged Bahh back in.

Both Rohit and Raj went after Bahh, but he took them both down with a double clothesline. A distraction from Rohit, though, allowed Raj to finally get the upper hand. Another spinning back kick followed bya running dropkick to the head took Bahh off his feet. Raj tagged in Rohit and both men pummelled the big man. Bahh dropped straight down as they came in for a double splash, running into each other.

Scarlett Bordeaux tagged in again, and looked to dive onto Raj as Bahh had him distracted outside. Rohit interrupted the dive, but received several chops and a tilt-a-whirl headscissors for his transgressions. With the Desi Hit Squad outside, Bordeaux held the ropes open while Bahh dropped them with a suicide dive. Bahh picked them back up and sent them into a diving Bordeaux, who came off the top rope to the ground.

Back inside, Bahh dropped Raj with a body avalanche in the corner. Bordeaux connected with a running hip attack. Rohit pulled Raj out and begged to be hit by the same move. Bordeaux tricked him into closing his eyes, allowing Bahh to embarrass him with a stink face.

Raj, back inside, took Bahh out with a jumping complete shot. Bordeaux tagged in as Raj was celebrating and attempted a German suplex. Raj went to retaliate but was slammed by Bahh with a belly-to-belly suplex. Bahh then placed Bordeaux on his back and dropped their combined weight onto him with the Banzai Drop. The Smokeshow picked up the win, giving her a 2-0 record.

Results: Scarlett Bordeaux & Fallah Bahh defeated the Desi Hit Squad.

Another training montage played, hyping up The Deaners, who will be debuting next week on Impact.

Backstage, Eli Drake and Eddie Edwards discussed their upcoming Impact Wrestling Tag Team Championship match. Drake finally accepted Kenny, stating that the hard work that all three of them have done will finally pay off tonight.

Up to this point, Moose has defeated two-out-of-three members of the Rascalz. Wentz and Trey have already fallen to the former NFL lineman, but his revenge wouldn't be complete without knocking off the final member of the trio.

Moose vs Dez

Moose attempted to corner Dez, and when he was put in a headlock, simply spun him around and patted him on his head. A waist lock was broken easily by the big man, and he jokingly frizzled Dez's hair.

Dez decided to switch tactics, going from wrestling to throwing fists. A strike to the jaw lit up Moose. After several more strikes, Moose caught his fist and launched him across the ring. A bear hug was broken out of quickly by Dez, who followed up with another combination and an enziguri. However, as he went for a tilt-a-whirl DDT, Moose stopped him short, launching him into the corner like a lawn dart.

Moose continued to slam Dez into different parts of the ring, hanging him up in the middle ropes and sending him into another corner. Moose set up for the Go To Hell, but Dez countered with a hurricanrana. Another attempt was shaken off by Moose who turned him inside out with a clothesline. Moose then surfed on his back, rubbing the situation into the face of the Rascalz who surrounded the ring.

Moose drove his shoulders into Dez's ribs, but a running shoulder tackle was avoided by Dez, sending Moose into the ring post. The high flyer dove over the top but was caught by Moose, who slammed him head first into the stairs before launching him onto Wentz and Trey.

Moose brought Dez back inside, and as he set up for the Spear, Trey held onto his feet. While the ref checked on Dez, he pulled Trey up and sent him across the ring. The ref then looked after Trey, allowing Wentz to connect with an enziguri while Dez rolled him up for the win.

Results: Dez defeated Moose via pinfall.

Backstage, Keira Hogan confronted Rosemary, claiming that the Demon Assassin abandoned "The Bunny." Rosemary said it was her own fault, and that not listening seems to be a constant trait in humans. Hogan shrugged it off, claiming that she wanted to help her in her fight with Su Yung whether she liked it or not.

Rosemary accepted that she wasn't going away, and instead attacked her, sending her into the wall and choking her with a steel chain.

A pre-recorded message from Tessa Blanchard for Gail Kim was played. Blanchard accused the Impact Hall of Famer of trying to stop her from surpassing her. Blanchard said Kim knows that she's the greatest women's wrestler on the planet, and could be the greatest of all time.

She then brought up her husband, stating that Kim is only known for "screwing a famous chef" before it was revealed that she was at his restaurant. Blanchard then harassed customers and the staff. Gail Kim responded to the video backstage when confronted by Melissa Santos,

Madman Fulton vs Tommy Dreamer

Fulton easily tossed Dreamer aside, showing some impressive strength in his Impact debut. A shoulder block took the Harcore Icon off his feet. Fulton then began assaulting Dreamer and choked him with the ropes.

Dreamer attempted an early comeback but was quickly stopped by Fulton. On the outside, Sami Callihan attempted to attack Dreamer, but Dreamer put a stop to it. The ref immediately threw him out. Dreamer went back inside the ring where he ran into a big boot from Fulton. The big man shot him into the ropes and caught a rebounding Dreamer with a bear hug.

Dreamer bit Fulton's face and took oVe's monster into the corner, hitting him with several closed fists and biting his face again. The two tumbled to the outside where Dreamer spit water in his face and slammed his face into the apron. Fulton attempted to get back in the match here, setting Dreamer up on the ring post, but the Innovater of Violence escaped. However, it didn't phase Fulton long, and he picked Dreamer up, slamming him repeatedly on the apron.

A release suplex front slam followed up by a running splash nearly gave Fulton the pinfall, but Dreamer broke out by sticking a thumb in his eye. Back to their feet, Dreamer looked for a clothesline, but was picked up for a sidewalk slam instead. Dreamer avoided a diving headbutt, Several bionic elbows and a cutter from Dreamer looked to be enough to end the bout, but Fulton immediately stood back up and interrupted his celebration.

Dreamer countered a kick and planted him with a DDT, then rolled out for the kendo stick. Dreamer ran at him with the weapon. However, Fulton caught him, slinging him around for a spinning lifted reverse STO.

Results: Madman Fulton defeated Tommy Dreamer via pinfall.

Willie Mack came down with a chair to break up Fulton's post match beatdown on Dreamer. He was intercepted by Jake and Dave Crist. However, a pair of handspring cutters took them out. Before he could finish off Fulton, Callihan choked him out with a bat, then spiked him with a Cactus Piledriver.

Fulton and Swann were held by the rest of oVe while Callihan wrapped Dreamer's right arm in a chair, then broke it with a bat. After a shot to Swann's gut with the bat, oVe bailed to the outside, leaving the remnants of a war in the ring while Callihan and his army stood victorious at the ramp.

Rich Swann and Willie Mack were backstage checking on Tommy Dreamer. Swann thanked him for having his back before leaving. Mack was then met by Killer Kross, who again tried to divide the two. Mack, finally having enough of Kross's games, challenged him to a match next week.

Madison Rayne vs Taya Valkyrie

Taya Valkyrie ran down the Ontario crowd in Canada before saying that she's not wrestling tonight. However, before she could leave, Madison Rayne pulled her back to start the match. A tilt-a-whirl headscissors sent Valkyrie to the outside, still clutching the Knockouts Championship.

She attempted to leave again, but was attacked by Jordynne Grace, who sent her inside, where she got rolled up by Rayne.

Results: Madison Rayne defeated Taya Valkyrie via pinfall.

Rayne has picked up back-to-back wins on both the former and current Knockouts Champions. One has to wonder if she'll be next in line for a championship match after Rebellion next Sunday. However, before Valkyrie can worry about that, she'll have to deal with Thick Mama Pump, Jordynne Grace.

Johnny Impact was interviewed back at his home about John E. Bravo and his #1 contender Brian Cage. Impact claimed that what Bravo is doing now as his errand boy is much better than being attacked as a ref for simply doing his job. The champ said that he got to the senior official, and that means he can get to anyone, including Cage's family.

Impact finished by saying the Machine can never live up to his potential because he doesn't understand the business.

Brian Cage assaulted Don Callis, who claimed to only be an announcer. Cage demanded to know what the plan was for Rebellion, as he didn't want to be screwed again. Callis, cowering, came up with the idea of a special guest referee, and said they'll be using Scott D'Amore. Cage went to the back to confront D'Amore while Callis attempted to call and warn him.

Callis finally got in touch with D'Amore on the phone and revealed that they didn't have a plan yet. Cage chased D'Amore down but was saved by Lance Storm. Storm told Cage that he needed to handle himself better, earning the Machine's respect. Cage asked D'Amore if Storm could be the special guest referee, and D'Amore said it was official.

Impact Tag Team Championship Match: Eddie Edwards (w/Kenny) & Eli Drake vs The Lucha Bros. (c)

Drake kicked off the main event with Fenix, who stunned Eddie Edwards with an enziguri while holding onto Drake. Edwards rushed in, but Pentagon caught him with a second kick. The champions set up for the Fear Factor, but Edwards took out Pentagon with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Drake then ascended the ropes, bringing Fenix down with a superplex.

Fenix kicked out and was worked over by the challengers. Drake dragged Fenix to his corner, and he and Edwards tagged in and out, beating down the champion. Fenix attempted to fight out and looked for the rolling cutter. Drake caught him, leaving him across his shoulders. Edwards dove onto Fenix with a knee to the skull. That would've been it, but Pentagon broke up the pinfall.

Pentagon and Fenix picked up steam here, leveling Edwards with a spinning kick in the corner and connecting with a double superkick to Drake inside. Drake kicked out while Fenix dropped onto Edwards on the outside with a flying crossbody.

LAX prevented the Lucha Bros from hitting the Fear Factor again. Drake tried to roll up Pentagon, but the former Impact Champion escaped. Edwards tossed Drake Kenny while distracting the ref. However, Pentagon avoided the cane, and Fenix dealt with Edwards before finishing Edwards off with the Fear Factor.

Results: The Lucha Bros. defeated Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake via pinfall.

Fenix, Pentagon Jr. and LAX fought up the ramp and out of the building. Edwards rolled back in to check on Drake. Drake seemed disappointed after the loss and after using Kenny in the match. Edwards attempted to cheer him up. Eventually, Drake shook it off, and embraced his tag team partner. They talked it over i the ring as Edwards' music hit.

Just before the show went off the air, Drake assaulted Edwards, beating him down with Kenny.
