Dolph Ziggler shocked the world by abandoning the United States Championship in the middle of the ring on Smackdown and telling the fans they didn't deserve him. Here's a few ideas of what he might do next.

Dolph Ziggler has been in the WWE for almost ten years on the main roster, but he actually has been through their developmental territory as well. For most of the 2000s, Dolph Ziggler has been a fixture on WWE television.

The fans have often said that Dolph is underrated; Even though he is a former World Champion and has held nearly every title the federation has to offer, Dolph always seems to get mired in the mid card. He is known for putting on dazzling performances, just like AJ Styles, and yet Styles was elevated to the main event and Dolph remains where he is.

Does this treatment have something to do with his decision? Or is he just planning a big swerve? Here's six things that might be his next move.

#6. Return to Raw.

Possibly the least interesting of the possible choices Dolph might make, he could always jump ship to Raw and hope for better treatment.

The only problem is he would have to dislodge WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar, who didn't lose a single match in all of 2017. We think the chances of Dolph jumping over to the other brand are low, but not impossible.

#5. Head to the Indies

It's no secret that ex-WWE wrestlers command top dollar on the independent circuit. Dolph Ziggler could make a good deal of money while maintaining creative control of his career if he chose to pursue a career in the indies.

With wrestlers like Drew McIntyre proving that one can make the transition from WWE to the indies and back again, this might be a path Dolph chooses to take.

#4. Jump to TNA/GFW

Ziggler could expect a big pay cut if he jumped to the southern promotion, but he could also expect a big push.

Dolph is eager to prove himself, but is Impact the place to do it? With their recent exodus of talent, this move doesn't seem likely for Ziggler but it is a possibility.

#3. Join ROH

While ROH would not offer as big a payday as WWE or even Impact, Ziggler would no doubt be welcomed as a conquering hero if he signed with the pure wrestling league.

Ziggler is a perfect fit for the ROH style, and he could still take indie league bookings while working for ROH. This might be Dolph's best option.

#2. Join Bullet Club

Just as Cody did before him, Ziggler could cross the ocean and work for New Japan. This would allow him to team up with Bullet Club, and he seems an ideal fit for the role.

New Japan treats its western wrestlers well, and Ziggler could no doubt command good pay and a title run if he signed with them.

#1.Go to NXT

Heading to NXT?

Recently, Triple H stated that he was thinking of moving some Raw and Smackdown stars to NXT, and stressed that it would not be a demotion.

He also said that NXT was equal to Raw and Smackdown as WWE's third brand, and should no longer be viewed as the path to the main roster. This could indicate that Dolph is planning to join the NXT roster, where his pure wrestling style will be greatly appreciated.
