With curtains coming down on the Mumbai leg last night, the Pro Kabaddi extravaganza will now commence in the City of Joy, Kolkata from today. The home team, Bengal Warriors will take the battle across to the Patna Pirates in the first home match to be held at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium.
The Bengal Warriors are coming into this match on the back of 32-26 win against the Bengaluru Bulls while the Patna Pirates defeated the Tamil Thalaivas 35-24 in their last encounter. In the previous clash between the two teams held in Mumbai, both look evenly matched and played out a draw.
The Bengal Warriors have had a mixed run so far, neither putting forth a stamp of authority nor can be adjudged as one of the easier teams to beat as well. The Warriors are led by their defender-captain, Surjeet who came into his own in the last match, amassing 8 tackle points to his credit. If one has to call the match, the advantage would tilt in favour of the Patna Pirates because with the attack being spearheaded by Pardeep there is little the Bengal defence will be able to do.
