10 Things that WWE should bring back

Triple H, Vince McMahon, John Cena and Shawn Michaelson the Las Vegas edition of RAWWWEs flagship show has seen a drastic drop in ratings. The show did manage to get a lot of critical acclaim for the content but the numbers told a different story about the WWE product. There is certainly a lot of room for the WWE to improve their current offering as at this pace, they are probably going to drive away their entire fan base thanks to some bad booking decisions. The dip in the ratings was just one of the indications about the same and unless the company comes up with some repairs, they are destined to doom.Even though they say one should leave his past alone for a bright future, in WWEs case, the above-mentioned repairs can be taken from their rich past. So here are some of the things that the company could bring back

#1 Stable Wars

Feuds between stables were a mainstay back in the Attitude Era and it would be a big hit if bought back as well. The closest thing we had to a stable war in the recent years was the storyline between Wyatt Family and The Shield. Although short-lived, the feud managed to attract a lot of praise and the creative team could try something similar.

The New Day, League of Nations, the Wyatts and the Social Outcasts are bringing back the old-school stable atmosphere back in vogue. This would invest themid cardersproperly as well rather than letting them work with random bookings.

#2 Jim Ross

We all would agree that Jim Ross is the greatest color commentator in pro wrestling history and WWE made a grave mistake in letting the Hall of Famer go.

The infamous JRisms are still fresh in the minds of the fans and there is no one, and I repeat no one, who made a segment that much more meaningful with his vocal anecdotes. From Stone Colds epic heel turn to Chris Benoits momentous WrestleMania moment, JR was simply on another level in calling these timeless moments.

Ross is back to what he does best and is a part of New Japan Pro Wrestlings commentary team. WWE would be so much more entertaining if Good Ol makes his way back.

#3 Script less promos

The lack of predictability is what makes live television so interesting. The scripted promoshastaken away a big chunk of this excitement as most the lines they pen down is either cheesy or over the top. The originality and improvisation that we used to have back in the good old days have been killed with scripted segments.

Putting a hold to this and letting the wrestlers improvise would be a great idea. There are a lot of superstarsinthe current roster that could tear down the roof without a script and giving them the freedom will make the product a lot more attractive.

#4 Banned moves

WWE recently banned curb stomp from being used and the fans were clearly not happy about this. Although the ban on certain things like blood or chair shots to the heads are good for the wrestlers, banning moves like curb stomp is actually an insult.

These are moves that can be pulled off safely most of the time and at the same time, provides enough theatrics for the fans. If WWE was to ban every such move, they will probably end up with just head locks and rope runs. There are a lot of wrestling promotions out there that amuse their fans with some excellent moves and WWE should at least allow a handful in their ring or risk getting outdated.

#5 Old Pay-Per-View

Most of WWEs current pay-per-views are named around gimmick matches. We have Money in the Bank, Hell in a Cell, TLC, Extreme Rules and some others. Back in the past, we had cooler names like Armageddon, No Way Out, Unforgiven, Backlash and more.

Naming the pay-per-views based on gimmick matches restricts the company from using those gimmicks only in the pay-per-view. For example, we cannot see Money in the Bank at WrestleMania and instead we have to wait till the pay-per-view comes along.

If WWE brings back the old names, they could just throw in Gimmick matches according to the intensity of the story rather than the name of the pay-per-view that the wrestlers will be fighting in.

#6 Some eye candy matches

WWE is a family friendly show but that does not mean they should avoid giving some eye candy matches. Back during the Attitude Era, the purpose of these matches was to put over girls who were not that good when it came to wrestling.

The trick worked brilliantly for the likes of Stacy Kiebler, Torrie Wilson and many more as they managed to be a hit with the crowd even without knowing all the technical skills. The current roster does have a lot of divas who know how to wrestle but they also have the opposite category. Investing the latter in some eye candy matches would do the trick for the fans and the divas.

#7 The Cruiser Weight Division

The cruiserweight division was hands down one of the best things that came out of WCW. The high adrenaline action that the cruiserweights produced was what held WCW together during their struggle with backstage politics. TNA later rechristened the concept as X Division and found success themselves.

WWEs Cruiserweight division was responsible for some solid matches during its stay as well. The company has some good quick wrestlers in their roster now and they could easily build a new cruiserweight division around any one of them. The pick should go to Adrian Neville as he is getting a warm reaction from the crowd.

#8 World Heavyweight Championship

The big gold belt has a lot oflegacy, period. It was a great way of putting over young talent while it lasted in the WWE. Bringing it back into the mix would help the company to put over the uppermid carderslikeSheamus or Bad News Barrett without letting them interfere in the Intercontinental or the United Statestitle scenarios.

It would also set the under-used stars like Fandango and AdamRosehave a crack at themidcardtitles ensuring some quality television time for everyone. The NXTcall upswith benefit from the championship as well and if they want to take it to the next level, they can do a brand split.

#9 A proper Brand Split

The days when WWE used to treat SmackDown and Raw like two separate companies were a treat for the fans. Both the brands were looking to get the better of each other during the period and just like Paul Heyman said, Vince was so fond of competition that he created a competition within, once WCW went bankrupt.

Bringing back a full blown brand split would let the company make SmackDown relevant once again. It will also provide them with the opportunity of giving themidcardersproper pushes and above all, the titles will be properly split rather than being puddled in one damn show.

#10 WCW

WWEs best period came when WCW was there to compete. Now, it would be impossible to replicate the exact scenario in the current era but WWE could relaunch the whole WCW invasion angle now that they have Sting at their disposal.

Sting was the face of WCW when it was alive, and if WWEletsSting lead a pack of fresh hungry youngsters, then it would turn out to be a crowd pulling angle. As it tugs at the nostalgic strings of the fans, it would also help get some subscribers into the WWE Network. Although this is basically a different form of stable wars, anything involving WCW and WWE is bound to be good.
