5 best physiques in WCW in the late 90s

GoldbergWCW will be remembered for a lot of things. Eric Bischoff's brilliance, the nWo, Goldberg's winning streak, and the Nitro girls are just some of them. These are factors that poke up in every discussion, so why don't we take a look at something different this time around?The wrestling business back in the 90s was mad about good physiques. Promoters wanted their wrestler to look like bodybuilders. WWE had stars with excellent physiques on their roster and to match up, WCW came up with their own as well. This list is going to take a look at those WCW superstars who had the best physiques in the 90s, so here they are:

#6 Honourable Mention: Goldberg

Whenever Goldberg and WCW are used in a single sentence, we end up talking about his undefeated streak. However, the Herculean physique that Goldberg had also deserves a mention.

#5 Randy Savage

Randy Savage and Ms. Elizabeth

Randy Savage was one of the most decorated names in the business back in the 90s. He had the popularity that matched Hulk Hogan at one point and after a memorable stay in WWE, Savage joined WCW. He had everything that was needed to be a great star in the business and a great body was one of them.

Savage’s WCW career might not be as memorable as his WWE career, but he did attract a lot of eyeballs with his great physique. He became the WCW World heavyweight champion on four occasions and his stay in WCW spanned almost six years.

#4 Stevie Ray

Not many of the new generation fans will recognize Stevie Ray. So for the sake of introduction, Stevie Ray is the brother of Booker T and at the same time was one of the major names in WCW. Stevie started off his career as part of Harlem Heat which was the tag team he formed with Booker. After a successful stint with Booker, Stevie worked as a singles wrestler and later joined nWo.

He hung up his boots after some random feuds and was a 10-Time Tag team champion during the time of his retirement. Ray was known for his jacked up physique and WWE fans were not lucky enough to see him in a WWE ring.

At present, Scott Steiner is one of the favourite wrestlers of troll pages. Jokes about him poke up almost every day and some of them are right to an extent as well. But it was not always like this. Scott was considered to be a great worker back in the good old days and along with his brother Rick, Scott won many championships and these two are still considered as a legendary tag team.

Along with the success inside the ring, Scott had a pretty impressive physique as well. In fact, Scott had one of the best bodies on the WCW roster. He went on to become a muscular freak(seriously mutated) during the latter part of his career but he had a good enough physique to get him a spot in this list.

#2 Buff Bagwell

Buff Bagwell was one of the most successful midcarders in WCW. He won the Tag Team Championships numerous times and was part of the nWo and the New Blood. During his stay in WCW, Bagwell had some memorable matches and some forgettable ones. He even won the ‘Most Embarrassing Wrestler’ award from Wrestling Observer in 2001. Despite the rollercoaster career, Bagwell did have a body that impressed everyone.

After his stint in WCW, Bagwell tried his hand in WWE, TNA, and other independent promotions before ending up becoming a gigolo. Bagwell has tried his hand in acting as well and will always be a crucial part of WCW history.

Lex Luger was one of the main reasons for the success of Monday Night Wars. WCW aired the first episode of Nitro from a Mall and Luger surprised everyone when he showed up there. Luger was a WWE superstar till then and once he showed up in Nitro, the rest is history. Luger went on to have a good run in WCW and he had a ripped body to go with it.

His great physique was one of the reasons Vince McMahon favoured him and even had plans of making him the next big thing. Luger was treated similarly in WCW as well and he had one of the best physiques in that WCW roster.
