Scott Steiner: A Brief Biography

Scott Rechsteiner is an American professional wrestler signed with NWA. He is a former World Champion. He is best known for his work with various promotions, such as WWF, WCW, TNA, and NWA. He is a WWE Hall of Famer.

Professional Wrestling Career


Early Years (1986-1992)


In 1986, Rechsteiner began training to become a professional wrestler. After spending three years working for various promotions and winning championships, Rechsteiner signed with WCW. In 1989, Rechsteiner began working with WCW, where he teamed up with his brother to form The Steiner Brothers. During their first run, The Steiner Brothers won the WCW World Tag Team Championship on three separate occasions.


WWF, NJPW, and ECW (1992-1996)


During their time with the promotions, they won several championships and played an influential part in the tag team division. The Steiner Brothers won the WWF Tag Team Championship on two occasions.

Return to WCW (1996-2001)


In 1996, The Steiner Brothers returned to WCW. After returning, they won the WCW World Tag Team Championship on four separate occasions. They spent their initial year feuding with NWO. Between 1997 to 1998, Scott Steiner went through a serious physical change.


At SuperBrawl VIII, The Outsiders defeated The Steiner Brothers after Scott betrayed Rick. After betraying Rick, Scott changed his character and joined NWO. In 1999, he won the United States Heavyweight Championship and World Television Championship.

After NWO, Steiner joined New Blood. In 2000, Steiner defeated Booker T to become the World Heavyweight Championship. After WWF bought the company, Steiner waited for his contract to run out.

Independent Circuit (2001-Present)


After leaving WCW and WWE, he worked for various promotions on the independent circuit, where he won several championships.


WWE (2002-2004)


In 2002, Steiner returned to WWE and joined RAW. In 2003, he began feuding with Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship and lost. After the feud, he began feuding with Test for Stacy Keibler. By the end of the storyline, Test and Steiner began teaming up. In 2004, he left the company.

TNA (2006-2010) (2011-2012) (2017-2020)


At Destination X, Steiner made his TNA debut and was hired by Jeff Jarrett as his bodyguard. At Slammiversary, Samoa Joe defeated Steiner. In 2007, Steiner returned and assisted Christian Cage. At Bound for Glory, The Steiner Brothers defeated Team 3D in a 2-out-of-3 Tables Match. Later, he won the Feast or Fired Briefcase and lost.


In 2008, he joined Main Event Mafia and became the TNA World Tag Team Championship with Booker T. At Bound for Glory, they lost the titles to The British Invasion. After leaving MEM, he feuded with Bobby Lashley and won.


In 2011, Steiner returned and had various feuds before leaving the company. In 2017, he returned at Slammiversary and lost. Later, he won the Impact Tag Team Championship with Eli Drake. After losing the title, he feuded with Drake before leaving the company.
