.If ever there is a discussion about the most passionate of fans, the wrestling ones will rank quite high on the list. The passion of any harcdcore crowd at a wrestling show is something worth experiencing. It’s undoubtedly quite exhilerating. And that is what the biggest high a wrestler gets- holding the attention of the audience in the palm of their hands. There are a lot of ways the superstars and divas reach out to their fans- be it autograph signings, charity events, live events, radio shows. All those events are somewhat pre-coordinated. But there are some occurrences where they completely surprise their fans. Here are those five instances-
#1 Punk calls in on a radio show
CM Punk, arguably, got some of the lost hardcore fanbase back to watching WWE.
Thomas Dotterer was one such passionate fan. The interesting aspect of this story is this- Dotterer is a liquor store owner and he got robbed. During the altercation that ensued between the robber and him, he got shotin the eye. He survived and then he went onto recieve some media coverage and he uttered something quite delightful. he said that he wasn’t as upset about the robbery as much as he was about CM Punk losing his title to The Rock at Royal Rumble.
Punk called in on a radio show, where Dotterer was being interviewed and surprised him. He evn visited him in the hospital.
Coolest thing ever.
#2 Rusev and Lana walk into a gym
This was pre-planned but not like autograph events and charity events.
Rusev and Lana needed to workout before their live event in England. So somebody from their corner contacted this gym owner, Kevin Hulse, asking if the two can workout in his gym.The owner was a huge wrestling fan himself, so all of this came as a pleasant surprise,
Rusev and Lana posed for a picture and even signed a T-Shirt for him.
#3 CM Punk strikes again
This may be the most mainstream a surprise visit by a WWE star . CM Punk made an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show and surprised the 6-year old son of Kimmel’s cousin. The boy was a huge John Cena fan and this appearance by Punk came at the heels of his monumental moment following the pipebomb, the MITB pay per view and him walking out of the company. So, naturally Archie, the boy, hated Punk. Also, the kid correctly guessed what the outcome will be in the WWE championship picture.
This was a hilarious segment and shows what a good sport Punk is. After all, the boy didn’t like Punk at all. He called Punk ‘poopy and small’.
Hilarious,I tell you.
#4 John Cena- The Champ is here
It’s a well documented fact that John Cena is a Make-A-Wish veteran. And he’s fulfilled many wishes which WWE continues to highlight. That is arguably one of the most delightful side of john Cena’s presence as a WWE wrestler. John Cena surprised 8-year old Nick Santillo, who was born with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome and who had already undergone 8 surgeries. He made an appearance on the Today show and the look on Nick’s face was priceless and the moment was so, so beautiful.
#5 Sing to me, Rock. It\'s My Birthday
The Rock is one of the best talkers this industry has ever seen. And most of his off-screen moments in the ring are quite candid and as entertaining as he is when the show is rolling.
He is nothing less than a rockstar when greeting a live audience.
The aforementioned sub-heading is a sign a fan brought to the arena.The Rock noticed it. played around with the word, made fun of the fans and ultimately he did sing the song and for a split second led the audeince sing it as well.
