5 Worst finishing moves in present-day WWE

A wrestlers finishing move is one of the top ways in which a superstar can forge their own success in the WWE and be remembered as a legend. Every single legend of the business has had a memorable signature manoeuvre that they used to finish off their opponent. But throughout WWEs history, the WWE Universe also has witnessed some truly awful, and sometimes illogical, finishing movesthat are really boring to watch. Here are the 5 currentworst WWE finishing moves.

#6 Honourable mention - Zig Zag(Dolph Ziggler)

Dolph Ziggler is by far one of the best professional wrestlers in the industry today. His work ethic and in-ring ability are next to none. With that being said, Ziggler has one of the worst finishers in sports entertainment and definitely needs to make the change to just using the superkick instead. Ziggler simply grabs an opponent from behind with his arm wrapped around their throat and uses his momentum to throw them both backwards.

Although the move would serve as a great signature or set up move it falls extremely flat as an actual finisher. The only real appeal about the “Zig Zag” is the ability for Ziggler to pull off the move whenever his opponent’s back is turned.

#5 The Big Ending(Big E)

Big E is by far one of the most physically intimidating athletes to step foot into the squared circle in past years. The former Intercontinental Champion and NXT Champion uses the “The Big Ending” as his finishing maneuver. Although Big E has utilized “The Big Ending” to achieve some measure of success in the WWE, the only thing this finisher looks to be crushing is Big E himself.

In executing this “savage” finishing maneuver, Big E lifts his opponent over his shoulder and then proceeds to jump forward landing flat on his back (as if he was delivering a cutter variation) with the full weight of his opponent landing on top of him.

#4 Reverse STO(R Truth)

Driving someone’s face into the mat looks like it could be a legitimate finishing move. The difference between that facebuster and this one is that facebuster actually ensures that opponents hit the mat with their faces by falling with them.

Truth’s opponents always look like they fall short of the mat. The leaping R-Truth does really hurts the move too. If he’d take the jump out, the move would look a little quicker and the impact might look a bit more believable.

#3 World Strongest Slam(Mark Henry)

While Mark Henry's finisher has a great name and has the advantage of being delivered at nearly any moment, it suffers from how painless it appears to be. From time to time, it's performed with more gusto, but it usually looks likes Henry is just setting down his opponent like you would place your child in their bed.

A running powerslam or some powerbomb variation would suit The World’s Strongest Man far better. Instead, he's held back by this blasé move unfit for such a powerhouse.

#2 Bull Hammer(Wade Barrett)

Really I’m afraid bcos I've got some BAD NEWS… for Wade Barrett. The NXT season one winner and former leader of the Nexus has all the charisma in the world but has one of the worst finishing moves to date. Although Barrett’s current finishing move “The Bullhammer” is a little better than his previous finishing maneuver, it still falls flat.

The move is nothing more than a simple elbow shot. Barrett circles his arm in the air as he waits for a groggy opponent to get to their feet and turn around to be met by the elbow connecting with their face. The move makes sense for Barrett given his background in England as a bare-knuckle fighter, but overall it is just plain boring and unexciting to say the least.

#1 Knockout Punch(Big show)

The Big Show employs the KO punch as his main finisher. The reason this move is one of the worst is due to the fact that the Big Show uses right-handed punches frequently, none of which knock his opponent out.If he has the ability to knock out a wrestler with one punch, why aren't ALL of his punches thrown with KO capability? It just seems too easy.
