Ramon, surprisingly, never won the world title

Ramon during his entranceThe WWE World title has had a torrid history. From being one of the most revered titles in its history to being just another title; it’s seen it all.Sure, a championship doesn’t make a performer, a performer makes the championship worth fighting for. The World title is still influential and instrumental in the world of sports entertainment as it is the top prize in the promotion that symbolizes reaching the very top of the wolf pack. There have been deserving title holders to clearly ineligible ones, who weren’t worthy of the magnitude of the championship. But there have also been legends fit enough to hold the titles as many times as there can be and yet the gold belt eluded them for their entire career.Throughout its rich history, here are 5 WWE legends who never won the world title-

#5 Razor Ramon

Ramon, surprisingly, never won the world title

This may be the most confounding fact ever. Razor Ramon had the look, the charisma, the talent and certainly the right friends in the industry to garner at least one World Title.

All his friends from the Kliq have been World Champions. But Ramon remains the odd one out. Sure, he won the Intercontinental title which remains his highest accolade with WWE till date. Nobody, once you watch it, can forget the legendary, original ladder match he had with HBK.

But it’s still jarring that he never went ahead and won the highest accolade there is in the WWE.

#4 Ted Dibiase

Debiase with the Million Dollar Championship

He is one of the greatest heels to ever step foot in the biggest wrestling promotion all over the world.

Such was his aura and his over consuming ego as a heel that he created his own championship called “The Million Dollar Championship”. He even bought the WWE Championship from Andre The Giant in 1988. But none of it counts for a World Title reign in the WWE record books.

Despite headlining many WWE events, including Wrestlemania, and despite being one of the formative figures in WWE during the 1980s, he will never be remembered as a World title holder.

#3 Mr. Perfect

Mr. Perfect holding the Intercontinental Title

Here’s another confounding addition to the list whose highest accolade has been the Intercontinental Championship.

He’s also recognized as the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time by the WWE. His in-ring prowess and natural charisma made everyone believe that he was as good as his name suggests.

Despite possessing all of that, the company never went ahead with him as a potentially great World Champion. If he had won the World Title, how perfect would that have been! We’ll never know.

#2 Jake \'The Snake\' Roberts

Jake The Snake Roberts is one of the most memorable WWE characters ever.

Nobody, according to many fans and performers alike, understood in-ring psychology as well as Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts.

His cold, eerie and rusty voice to his chilling in-ring presence with his longtime camaraderie Damien and his superb in-ring work should all have been ample enough to give him at least one World title reign. But there is a jinx when it comes to WWE’s greatest heels; they just don’t win the World title.

Perhaps it’s a testament to how great heels they were that the audience just won’t have them as champions.

#1 Rowdy Roddy Piper

Piper never ever won the world title

Here’s the icing on the cake that reads ‘The Greatest Heels of the Golden Era never won a World Title”.

Piper was not just a great heel of the golden era and not even one of the greatest heels of all time, but quite simply put, the greatest heel of all time. Every wannabe bad guy takes a page or two from this man’s book, who is touted as the original rebel in all of WWE.

His influence has been powerful enough to transcend into all generations of sports and entertainment. Roddy Piper’s name has been the greatest absence in the list of World Title winners.
