Heres a look at top 5 most anticipated football transfer speculations from this weekends newspapers.

#1 Liverpool target 40m Southampton duo

Liverpool are preparing a £40 million double deal to sign Southampton winger Adam Lallana and centre back Dejan Lovren.

Southamtpon have put a £25 million price tag on England International Lallana, who looks set to join Anfield this summer. However, Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers wants defensive reinforcements this transfer window and is reportedly targeting Lallana’s team-mate Dejan Lovren.

The Croatian has had an impressive first season for the Saints, who joined the Premier League club only last summer for a initial fee of £8 million. Liverpool are willing to offer almost double of that fee in a quest to land the defender with the arrival of Lallana.

#2 Sagna to hold talks with Man City

Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna will told transfer talks with Manchester City next week as he closes in on a deal to join the newly crowned Premier League champions.

The 31-year-old is expected to play his final game in an Arsenal shirt in the FA Cup final against Hull City at Wembley. Sagna looks set to sign a four-year deal worth £100,000-per-week once he holds formal talks before joining his French team-mates ahead of next month’s World Cup in Brazil.

Sagna, who will leave Arsenal on a free transfer, will end a seven year stay at the Emirates Stadium next week.

#3 Juventus lead chase for Man United\'s Evra

Serie A champions Juventus are now considered favorites to sign Manchester United defender Patrice Evra. The Frenchman, who turned 33 earlier this week, is out of contract this summer.

Evra is expected to follow club’s fellow veteran defenders Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand and leave the club this transfer window. Evra is believed to be targeted by a host of European clubs, but Italian giants Juventus have emerged as a favorable destination for the former Monaco star.

Talks over a two-year deal are said to have already began with the left back ready to snub Inter Milan to join Turin. Reports suggested that Evra was close to join Inter Milan to reunite with Man United team-mate Nemanja Vidic from next season.

#4 Everton and Newcastle battle for Andros Townsend

Premier League clubs Everton and Newcastle United will go head to head for the signature of Tottenham winger Andros Townsend. The North London club are reportedly willing to offload the England International with several clubs interested.

The 22-year-old displayed excellent performances in the first half of the season before suffering an ankle injury which has ruled out Townsend from World Cup. Everton boss Roberto Martinez wanted the winger on-loan last season but the Spaniard is keen to land him on a permanent basis this summer.

However, the Toffees will face competition from fellow English club Newcastle United, who are desperate to bolster their attacking options.

#5 Van Gaal names his Man United transfer list

Manchester United manager inwaiting Louis van Gaal has handed his desired transfer target list to club’s chief executive Ed Woodward. The Holland’s World Cup coach is expected to named David Moyes’ permanent successor following talks with interim boss and club legend Ryan Giggs.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager’s wishlist includes Bayern Munich attacking pair Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller and Borussia Dortmund’s centre back Mats Hummels and attacking midfielder Marco Reus.

The 62-year-old has also reportedly approved Southampton left back Luke Shaw and Bayern midfielder Toni Kroos, who were already identified transfer targets under David Moyes. If reports are to be believed, van Gaal has a £200 million kitty to spend this summer as Man United look to overhaul their squad.
