#5 Batista vs. JBL World Heavyweight Championship - 2005

In 2005, Batista defended his World Heavyweight Championship against JBL in a ‘No Holds Barred’ match. This was a very physically draining match and both the superstars fought in every nuke and corner of the arena.

JBL delivered a ‘Clothesline from Hell’ to Batista, the sound of which still echoes in that arena. This seemed like an encounter between equals because both men were spectacular throughout the match. Batista delivered two ‘Batista Bombs’ to JBL- one in the ring and the other on the steel stairs and covered him for the victory.

#4 John Cena vs. Edge - WWE Championship 2006

Edge was defending his WWE title with the stipulation that if he gets disqualified, he will lose the title. Cena was portrayed as very irate and determined throughout this match. Cena converting a spear into an STFU was a terrific move.

Lita tried to extend help to Edge multiple times and she was finally successful when she handed over a brass knuckle to knock-off Cena. Though Cena lost this match, it was really awesome to watch. Have a look at the highlights-

#3 Stone Cold vs. Triple H vs. Mankind - WWE Championship 1999

One of the most brutal matches in SummerSlam history

In 1999, Stone Cold defended his WWE Championship against Mankind and Triple H in a triple threat match. During the first half of the match, Austin and Mankind worked together and decimated Triple H.

Stone Cold was impressive throughout the match but his leg was badly injured by Triple H. In the closing moments of the match, Triple H delivered a Pedigree to Austin; Mankind took out Triple H and covered Austin for the win and became the WWE Champion. This match is one of the most brutal matches ever fought at SummerSlam.

#2 Elimination Chamber Match World Heavyweight Championship 2003

In SummerSlam 2003, the World Heavyweight Championship was defended in an ‘Elimination Chamber’ match. Triple H defended his title against Randy Orton, Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels and Goldberg.

Goldberg was the sixth entrant in the match and took out all the others. He eliminated Orton, Michaels and Jericho consecutively. Triple and Goldberg were the only men left and Goldberg attempted a spear on HHH, who countered it by hitting Goldberg with a sledge hammer. HHH was able to cover him and retain the title.

It was in 2002 that something spectacular happened in WWE. Within 6 months of making his debut in the WWE, Brock Lesnar did the unthinkable.
