These men in question have not only proved this everlasting line of wisdom right, but have also managed to defy the phrase – two’s company, but three’s a crowd.These incredible goal machines also managed to bring about two memorable achievements – i.e. making the beautiful game even more attractive to watch as well as compelling the opposition to be on the lookout for not just a single individual, but the sign of three (Yes! #10 Batshuayi-Alessandrini-NKoudou- 25 goals (Marseille)

Olympique Marseille currently find themselves in an unflattering ninth position in Ligue 1, but that hasnt stopped their front men from making the cut on this list. Leading the trio is talented Belgian youngster Michy Batshuayi, who has 12 goals to his name so far. The 22-year-old is followed byRomain Alessandrini, who has a total of 7 goals and lastly by young winger Georges-Kvin Nkoudou, who has 6 goals so far.

The trio will have to come out with all guns blazing if they are to help Marseille finish in a respectable position at the end of the season.

#9 Ronaldo-Benzima-Bale- 30 goals (Real Madrid)

Real Madrid have had a disappointing season by their standards under the leadership of new manager Rafael Benitez and currently sit third in the La Liga, but that hasnt stopped their star BBC trio of making it to the top ten on this list. First up is Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, whos netted 17 goals so far and is even in contention to win the Ballon DOr next year.

CR7 is followed by Karim Benzema, who has an impressive 9 goals in 12 appearances and lastly Gareth Bale who has 4 goals in 11 appearances. BBC has worked excellently over the past few seasons, with the trio scoring over 200 goals between them, but will really have to pull out all the stops if Los Blancos wish to surpass Barcelona in the league.

#8 Aduriz-Williams-Garcia- 30 goals (Athletic Bilbao)

Aduriz along with youngster Williams and veteran Garcia have put in some eye-catching performances

Athletic Bilbao, who are famous for fielding players of Basque descent,have had a pretty good run in recent times and currently sit seventh in La Liga. Their striker, Aritz Aduriz, has been in superb form this season netting 20 goals in 23 appearances, which has greatly benefitted the club in the Europa League.

Inaki Williams, who is a fast maturing talent, has so far found the back of the net 6 times, with a lot more to follow if he continues his promising form. Finally, former Atletico Madrid veteran, Rudi Garcia, who signed for Bilbao this season, has netted four goals so far to keep his team in a decent position in the league.

When a club has money to burn, footballs best talent arent out of reach and PSG certainly have some of the games best players in their ranks. PSGs star strikers in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani have 13 and 11 goals respectively, with the former recently creating history by becoming PSGs all time top scorer with 85 goals.

And last but not least, PSG new boy Angel Di Maria has put his Manchester United nightmare to bed in style, and has so far netted 7 goals in just 13 appearances for the club making him a more than integral part of the team. Needless to say, PSG will retain their Ligue 1 title as well as a host of other silverware at this rate.

#6 Dzyuba-Hulk-Shatov- 33 goals (Zenit Saint-Petersburg)

Zenit will need their front three to carry on in similar fashion to keep their title hopes alive

Zenits new signing Artyom Dzyuba has really hit the ground running for his club and has so far netted 14 goals in 24 appearances. And while other teams have star strikers, Zenit have a Hulk who has performed as consistently this season as he has in his four years with the club and so far has a tally of 11 goals.

And lastly, Zenit have Oleg Shatov, who has netted 8 goals for his club so far as well as provided 8 assists, in which is turning out to be his best season with the Russian outfit so far. However, despite the trios goals, Zenit still sit sixth in the Primera Liga and have a slim chance of winning the league this season unless the teams ahead of them slip up.

#5 Higuain-Insigne-Gabbiadini- 35 goals (Napoli)

The Serie A outfit began the new season as potential title contenders and were the leaders of their league for the first time in 25 years with a win over Inter Milan, but slipped up against Bologna and are now in third. All is not lost though, and Napoli can very well regain their lost ground with the help of their competent front line.

Leading the clubs goalscoring charts is their star striker, Gonzalo Higuain, who has so far netted 16 goals in 18 appearances. The Argentine is followed by Napoli youth product, Lorenzo Insigne who has 8 goals to his name and counting. The trio is completed by Manolo Gabbiadini who has a commendable 11 goals to his tally so far.

#4 Teixeira-Eduardo-Marlos- 41 goals (Shakhtar Donetsk)

Another Brazilian whos been plundering goals for his team this season is Alex Teixeira. The 25-year-old currently has 26 goals in 25 appearances to his name and has helped fire his team to the top of the Ukrainian Premier League. Teixeiras Brazilian teammate Marlos has also contributed his fair share to the team and now has 9 goals and counting.

Former Arsenal striker Eduardo, who returned to Shakhtar this season, has rediscovered his amazing appetite for goals and now has 6 goals to his name, which helped put him back in the headlines. The wholesome contribution of the trio will most likely see Donetsk retain the championship at the end of the season.

#3 Messi-Suarez-Neymar- 44 goals (FC Barcelona)

Over the years, plenty of fans with an untrained eye for the game shared the common opinion that Messi was the sole individual responsible for Barcelonas successes. True, Messi is brilliant and has been a real game changer on more than one occasion, but it takes a lot more to make Barcelona tick than the Argentine.

The recent couple of years have proved the above fact excellently, and the Rosario-born forward now wrecks havoc with the help of his other two illustrious colleagues Suarez and Neymar. Messis absence, which arose due to a ligament injury, was compensated perfectly by the duo who just kept plundering goals and now have 19 and 16 goals respectively, compared to the Argentine who has 9 and counting.

A combined total of 44 goals between the trio is enough to instil fear in their rivals.

Costa, who has scored a respectable 5 goals this season, has been excellent with providing assists, and currently has nine to his name including his cross to Robben on his debut which allowed the latter to score. Lewandowski and Muller have 19 and 18 goals to their name respectively, taking the trios tally to 45 goals, which is the second highest in Europe.

A major factor that has contributed to their reversal of fortune is the goal scoring exploits of their three forwards in the form of Aubameyang, Reus and Mkhitaryan respectively.

Aubameyang has been nothing short of sensational this season, with the striker already boasting of 25 goals to his name, and his been aided in his efforts by Reus and Mkhitaryan who have 13 goals each to their names. Whether they manage to wrestle the Bundesliga title away from arch rivals Bayern Munich remains to be seen.
