5 Youngest Debutants at WrestleMania

WrestleMania is less than a week away and the entire WWE Universe is geared up for it. Having to deliver the perfect show, the WWE are probably contemplating over the results and looking to put up some stellar matches on show. Looking at the matches announced so far, we have got some interesting ones indeed. But for most people, it is the ladder match they’d be looking out for.Considering the amount of wrestling talent in that pool, it is sure to set the stage on fire. However, one of the less anticipated matches is the only Divas match yet announced between the Bella Twins and AJ Lee and Paige.This has an interesting record in the making seeing as how Paige, at 22 years and 7 months will become one of the youngest debutantes at WrestleMania. And let us take a look at the youngest debutants so far at the grandest stage of them all.

#5 Velvet McIntyre

Velvet McIntyre was a Canadian WWE wrestler who made her WrestleMania debut back in 1986. Having joined the WWE in 1984, she was quickly pushed to become the Divas tag team Champion. However, around a year and a half later, she began to pursue a career as a singles wrestler. This resulted in her first ever WrestleMania match.

At WrestleMania II, she lost her match against the fabulous Moolah. Back then, she was only 22 years and 5 months old. Known for her high-flying style and wrestling barefoot, her stay at the WWF saw her win the singles title in 1986. However, she left the business around 1990 and has yet to return.

#4 Rene Dupree

Till date, he holds the record for being the youngest person to win a Championship belt in the WWE while also being the only teenager to do so. And continuing in that trend, he made his WrestleMania debut at 22 years and 3 months, back in 2004. He was in the fatal four-way tag team match as part of La Résistance and ended up losing the match.

Despite his impressive resume as a youngster, he dubiously claimed to have been bullied by JBL every other week in the WWE. As we know of his reputation back in the days, these may well have been true. Dupree was never promoted to the main event although he managed to stay in one of the Championship pictures for a certain time.

#3 Kelly Kelly

Kelly Kelly narrowly managed to beat out Rene Dupree to third place in the list. She was only 22 years and 2 months old when she made her WrestleMania debut in 2009. Although she had appeared in 2008 as a Lumberjill, she didn’t officially contest a match. So, that puts her debut late by a year.

She was part of the Divas Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXV which was strangely won by Santino Marella. After this, she did win the Divas Championship once in 2011 but that was it to her accolades. She was released by the company in 2012 and has gone on to work in the independent circuits ever since then.

#2 Jeff Hardy

He is without a doubt the most accomplished wrestler in the list. Despite not having attained as much fame in the attitude era, Jeff Hardy was present back then as well. At first, he joined the WWE as a jobber and was one for many months. Following which, he started his tag team along with his brother, Matt Hardy and went on to become one of the most recognized duos in the WWE

He was 21 years and 8 months at the time he made his at WrestleMania XV. He was part of the Battle Royal to determine the No.1 Contender for the tag team Championship but failed to make any impact. His big moment would come a year later when his tag team went up against the Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian in a Ladder match.

They would repeat the same at WrestleMania X-seven and go on to put up one of the best matches ever, cementing Hardy’s place in history as the guy who took in Edge’s spear from the ladder.

Aguila had a very brief stay in the WWF. He is more famous as a Mexican wrestler but still, he holds the record for being the youngest debutant ever at WrestleMania. He joined the WWE in 1997 and was one of the new recruits then in the recently created Light Heavyweight division. And during that, he made his debut at WrestleMania XIV in 1998.

He went up against Tata Michinoku for the Light Heavyweight title and ended up losing after a short bout of six minutes. His career never really shot up after that despite him managing a title win in 1999. He had a feud subsequently with Eddie Guerrero, who was in his early days as well but soon found his way out of the business.

He was relegated to Sunday Night Heat towards the end of his WWF tenure but still managed to put up some technical matches. But as far as WrestleMania goes, he shall hold this record for the foreseeable future.
