WWE Monday Night Raw preview : 11 January, 2016

Del Rio could defend his title at Rumble

All set to returnThe latest edition of Monday night raw is bound to be a stellar one. After the major announcement about Royal Rumble last week, WWE will be eager to push forward their preparations for the pay-per-view. Revealing some of the remaining participants of Rumble match would be one of the major headaches for WWE this time around. Also, they are yet to book the undercard of the pay-per-view even though we are just two weeks away. Coping with the ever increasing injury list will be another task for the creative team. Here are some of the segments we could expect from this week’s Monday Night Raw.

#5 The undercard of Rumble

Del Rio could defend his title at Rumble

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view solely sells on the Rumble match. However, this does not mean that WWE could sit back and only book one match for the show. There should be some undercard matches for the fans and WWE should book them soon. Even if WWE books some matches this week on Raw, they will barely get a two week buildup.

It is not enough to be frank, but considering that WWE has no other option, something is always better than nothing. All the midcard titles will be crucial for the same and if WWE could find appropriate matches for these champions, it will do the job.

#4 The dirty Flairs

Top babyface in the division

The divas division is in a desperate attempt to paint Becky Lynch as the new top babyface. Her battle with Charlotte aims to do this and the involvement of Ric Flair is helping the cause. The friendship ties were completely broken over the past couple of weeks and it is time for an all-out battle right now.

WWE is yet to make an official match between these two for Royal Rumble but we could expect this announcement on Raw. There is no other segment in the divas division worth following and with the injury rumors of Paige coming out, things do not look good for the WWE.

#3 Jericho is here

A segment with New Day would be gold

Chris Jericho made a surprise return to WWE last week. He got into a verbal battle with the New Day and though it fell flat, Jericho still showed his talent to capture the crowd. The chances of Jericho sitting out of the remaining episodes of Raw before Rumble are low and he needs a credible feud to work.

The best challenge for Jericho at this moment would be New Day despite the average segment last week. The Jericho-New Day segment had some immense potential and still does. Alternatively, WWE could pit Jericho against some new faces that would benefit from being in the ring with a veteran like him.

#2 The war with The Authority

The odds are stacked against him

The battle between Authority and Roman Reigns took a sharp turn last week. Vince McMahon announced that Reigns would defend the WWE championship at the Royal Rumble match and this has raised the stakes for this feud.

This week, Vince and Stephanie will be looking to pile up the misery on Reigns. The absence of Triple H is a mystery as well and it would not be a surprise if he gets back into the scene to give Reigns a tough time. And with a major return all set to take place, the life of Reigns is going to get worse.

#1 The Beast is back

Time to improve the ratings

This week’s Monday night Raw will be held at New Orleans, the arena where Brock Lesnar ended the legendary WrestleMania streak of Undertaker. The silence after Lesnar’s win over Undertaker will be still floating around the arena and this week, it will be replaced with huge roars as Lesnar makes his return to WWE television.

The intentions of Lesnar are not clear of now but he might be coming back to set his eyes on the WWE championship. Lesnar entering the Rumble match would be a huge boost for the company. If Lesnar has some other intentions, it would be worth watching as well.
