WWE RAW 7th December 2015 - 3 Things that worked

Owens took on Ziggler tonight

The number of Unicorns have increased in the WWEThe tone of this post is supposed to be positive but when one comes across an appalling show like this week's Raw, promises just fly out of the window. From a writing standpoint, this was a poorly written show. Where was the presence of some substance? Everything about this show was haywire and maybe, to an extent, pointless. There were character shifts, or the writers have just plainly put – given up on writing a babyface or heel. The League of Nations are still a thing and we had a return tonight which was fine. Here are the 3 things that worked this week:-

#1 Owens Vs Ziggler

Owens took on Ziggler tonight

Arguably the best match of the night and possibly the only thing that was given enough time that people enjoyed.

Ziggler and Owens were great in their respective roles. Dean Ambrose had a brief appearance where he poured soda and threw popcorn at the IC champion. What’s mind boggling is that WWE hasn’t had Ambrose give more time to this feud.

He’s been right next to his brother Reigns most of the time. This feud has legs and hopefully WWE puts the potential it has in perspective at TLC.

#2 The New Day and Team BAD

Team B.A.D and New Day

If you’ve been following Sasha Banks or any of the New Day members on Twitter, you will know that Team B.A.D and the New Day are quite the good friends and share a jovial relationship off screen.

After a forgettable Divas tag team match, what was pleasantly surprising was The New Day coming out to give unicorn horns to Team B.A.D.

This may not have any long-term consequences, but WWE playing out this off-screen friendship to the on-screen sphere is a testimony to the fact that fans have been quite entertained by them.

#3 Gore returns

Rhyno is back on the main roster

Bubba Ray Dudley had promised an ‘extreme brother’ returning to the main roster to face the Wyatt Family. Well, Raw began on quite a great note with the Wyatt family interrupting the League of Nations.

This was fantastic and Bray Wyatt was awesome as usual. But then the Dudleys and Tommy Dreamer interrupted and then it was time for that anticipated return.

It turned out to be Rhyno. His absence from NXT gave enough evidence to a main roster return happening, and that is exactly what happened. The audience ate it up, following which, we went on to witness a mammoth tag team match, which wasn’t that great.

But this return to the main roster by Rhyno is a nice little thing that completes Team ECW and sets things up beautifully for TLC.
