WWE SummerSlam 2014: 3 Possible Endings for Dolph Ziggler vs The Miz Intercontinental Title Match

The midcard titles have been often ignored by the WWE at occasions but they are clearly not keeping that habit running for the summers biggest party. While the status of the United States championship is still up in the air, the creative gave a good buildup and booked a match between Miz and Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental championship which shows their faith in either the title or both the superstars.Having a reign after Bad News Barrett is no easy task and Miz would be having the opportunity to show his worth at the pay-per-view.Meanwhile, Ziggler is getting his share of limelight after a long time and wouldnt let the opportunity pass by just like that. So here is a look at how things could turn out with the possible endings.

#3 A Surprise addition in the Last minute

It is easy to think that the Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler match doesn’t appeal that well even though both are former World Champions.

Miz and Ziggler are two superstars who had rollercoaster journeys in their career and Ziggler especially getting thrusted into the title scene looks awkward. Also the company has been pitting the idea of unifying the two titles since the year started.

Sheamus has not found his place in the card as well which makes the situation ideal for the creative team to add the Celtic Warrior in the last minute and make it a unification match.

This would actually ease out the pressure that WWE has to book the two midcard titles and help them to give one of the three superstars a big push meaning that the winner wouldn’t matter.

#2 Miz coming out with the Money Maker

The WWE Universe has been giving a mixed response to the new gimmick of Miz. The Hollywood thing is keeping him in relevance without any doubt but doesn’t make look successful.

Miz is nothing more than a duck champion in the midcard who could do all the dirty deeds and take the easy route out of every match. Randy Orton had a similar run back before the WWE decided to have only one title in the main event.

Though Orton’s reign was not popular, he was picking up wins which might just be the way in which Miz would be booked.

A botched ending looks to be in the cards at SummerSlam with Miz coming out with his title and Money Maker while Ziggler would be the lovable fallen hero.

#1 There is some bad news for you

After being confined to the podium for a few months, Bad News Barrett was having his moment when the company let him get between the ropes after WrestleMania.

He soon carried the momentum all the way and became the Intercontinental champion, which was a feat he deserved for the efforts he put into his work. However, the reign was short-lived thanks to a misjudged move from Jack Swagger as Barrett ended up dislocating his shoulder.

The title then found the shoulder of Miz after he won the Battle royal and the possibility of Barrett making a surprise return to make a statement at SummerSlam can’t be counted out.

The former champion could come out after Miz won the match against Ziggler and lay out the Awesome one and set up a match at Night of Champions which is turning out to be a very important pay-per-view for the company.
