#5 Jericho takes one above

This match took place in the year 2002 at the Judgment Day PPV. Triple H took on Chris Jericho inside 'Hell in a Cell'. As was the case with all cell matches, this too was a physical match and these two guys put on a great show.

This match was obviously the show stealer of the night and entertained the WWE universe. The closing moments of the match were impressive with some great action above the cell. Triple H closed the match and secured a victory by delivering a pedigree to Chris. Have a look at that in the above video.

#4 Edge and Taker crashing the cell

The Rated ‘R’ Superstar, Edge and ‘The Phenom’, Undertaker were part of a spectacular match at SummerSlam 2008. Both were involved in a ‘Hell in a Cell’ match and each of them took severe beating at the hands of the other.

Let me recall some spectacular moments from this match. Remember Edge spearing Taker through one of the walls of the cell?! Then again, Edge spearing Taker on the announce table! How about Taker sending Edge through two tables with a Choke Slam!

Many great moments were a part of this match and it was the ‘Dead Man’ who finally won the match with a tombstone.

#3 Cactus Jack goes through the cell and the ring

This match between HHH and Cactus took place in 2000 at the 'No Way Out' PPV. Triple H defended his WWF title inside 'Hell in a Cell'. The interesting part of the match was the stipulation that if Cactus loses the match, he should retire from professional wrestling.

The match was a very physically draining one in which chairs, barbed wires and the cell were used to full advantage. Half way down the match, the superstars went atop the cell and fought each other. Just when Cactus attempted a Pile driver, Triple H reversed the move and dropped Jack on the cell. To everyone's surprise, he went through the cell and also the mat inside the ring. This stands among the most memorable moments in the WWE history of Foley.

#2 Rikishi falls from 16 feet

A 'Hell in a Cell' match is something that takes the superstars to the limit and you can call it career-defining at times. How about someone making 12 appearances inside the cell? You are damn right! I'm talking about ‘The Phenom’.

In 2000, at the Armageddon PPV, Kurt Angle defended his WWF title against The Rock, Triple H, Undertaker, Rikishi and Stone Cold in a 'Hell in a Cell' match. A few minutes away from the start of the match, the action started above the cell.

Undertaker pushed Rikishi from the cell into a truck filled with pine chips. The 425 pounder went down and it was a sight to behold as everyone in the arena was stunned. Rikishi was motionless for a few minutes and the other superstars couldn't believe that. In the end, Angle retained his title, but that fall obviously was a big takeway from the match compared to the latter.

#1 Mankind takes two

Talk about 'Hell in a Cell' and you can't stop recalling his name - Mick Foley! Foley's run in WWE could be visualized as two halves; pre-cell and post-cell. This match we are talking about took place at 'King of the Ring' in 1998.

Foley took two serious blows in the match - once when he fell from the top of the cell onto the Spanish announce table and the other was when he went through the cell owing to a Choke Slam from The Undertaker.

Like it or not, accept it or not, this is one of the most brutal WWE encounters then...now...and may be forever. Also, this match established the fact that Foley was one gem of a man when it comes to loyalty as he endured a brutal beating on the PPV.
