Kane is all set for a return

Rumble calling? The conclusion of TLC and the Monday Night Raw that followed have left the WWE Universe asking for more. With Roman Reigns crowned as the new champion, the level of excitement is certainly high. Everyone is interested in seeing how WWE is going to take the angle forward and the rumor mill gave us some hints about the same. There were speculations about the winner of the Royal Rumble, the plans that WWE had for Roman Reigns, and much more. Without further introductions, let us get right to business and look at the top rumors of this week and what they could mean.

#5 Big stars returning

Kane is all set for a return

WWE is all set to bring back veterans Kane and Big Show in time for the New Year. Kane has been off television since the Survivor Series match he had alongside Undertaker. Meanwhile, the Big Show was making on and off appearances for quite some time.

Although the return is not expected to be an explosive one, we could see these two make some kind of impact. In addition, the days of Kane and Big Show featuring consistently in WWE programming are long gone. Both of them are likely to take up a lighter schedule heading to WrestleMania 32.

#4 John Cena vs. Roman Reigns was in the plans

Superman vs. Superman?

The injury of Seth Rollins is something that tore apart WWE’s blueprint for WrestleMania. A string of plans had to be changed and a program between Roman Reigns and John Cena was apparently in that list.

WWE was eager to book these two for WrestleMania program before Rollins was injured. The plan took a back seat due to the injury, but it does not mean WWE has completely forgotten about it.

There is still a small chance of Reigns vs. Cena showdown at WrestleMania. WWE has an alternative plan in their arsenal and this proved to be another major rumor that we will see in the upcoming slides.

#3 Plans for Vince McMahon

Not staying

The return of Vince McMahon was something that had a huge impact on the Raw ratings. Despite all these years, the Mr. McMahon character still draws heat. He played a major role to make Reigns look good, but unfortunately, McMahon will not be sticking around.

According to the rumor mill, his appearance on Raw was a one-time thing and the chances of seeing him against are low. The good news, however, is the rumored return of Triple H. Hunter was taken out by Reigns at TLC, but he is expected to be back on television soon alongside Stephanie McMahon.

This is likely to point towards a potential storyline with Reigns and Triple H as the protagonists.

#2 Big blow for Jeff Hardy fans

Bad news for Jeff Hardy fans

Ever since the Dudley Boyz made their return to WWE, the fans are calling for one last spell from the Hardy Boyz. Matt Hardy did tease about the same in his Twitter account, but all these rumors suffered a big blow last week.

Jeff Hardy, who was recovering from a long list of injuries, is all set to undergo a surgery soon. The surgery will keep him out of action for the entirety of 2016 and this rule out a potential return of the Hardy Boyz. There is, however, a chance of Matt making a singles return, but it is a long shot due to the stacked midcard that WWE has at their disposal.

#1 Brock Lesnar favorite to win Royal Rumble

Lesnar is ready to conquer

Brock Lesnar is currently the favorite to win the Royal Rumble match and if that is the case, we could see a Lesnar vs. Reigns match at WrestleMania 32.

WWE is limited when it comes to the options they have and apart from the Cena vs. Reigns and Reigns vs. Triple H angles; this is the only one that could make an impact. The Authority will probably back Lesnar if he is indeed going to win the Rumble match. Either way, WWE will be looking to put over Reigns at the end of the day.
