American tennis legend Andre Agassi, who enjoyed a brief stint as part of the coaching team of Novak Djokovic in 2017 and early 2018, is all set to extend his stint as a member of Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov's coaching team with a focus on the Australian leg of the 2019 tennis season.

Bulgaria's best ever tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov endured a slump in form in 2018 compared to his heroics of 2017 where he won the Nitto ATP Finals and achieved a career-high ranking of World Number 3. 2017 also saw Dimitrov grab his only ATP Masters 1000 title till date at the Cincinnati Masters.

Dimitrov will start off his 2019 campaign at the Brisbane International, an event he won in 2017. He will be making his seventh appearance in Brisbane. The Monte Carlo-based Bulgarian, Dimitrov has slipped to 19th in the rankings and will look to quickly make amends in the 2019 tennis season.

His record Down Under has been fairly impressive. In addition to his 2017 win at Brisbane, Dimitrov was runner-up in 2013 and made the last-4 in 2015 and 2018. His best performance at the Grand Slam level also came at the Australian Open of 2017 where he lost an epic five-set match against Rafael Nadal.

Agassi first began to work with Dimitrov in the Paris Masters early last month. He will be joining Dimitrov's head coach Dani Vallverdu.

Looking at Dimitrov's Instagram posts, the two seem to have hit it off really well and only time will tell if their friendship and camaraderie translates to silverware for Dimitrov.

Referred to as 'Baby Federer' on account of the similarity of his one-handed backhand with that of the Swiss great, Dimitrov would be backing himself up to break his Grand Slam duck in 2019.
