Australian Open 2019, Day 8: Schedule and Order of Play

While second seed Rafael Nadal progressed to the quarter-final of the ongoing 2019 Australian Open on day 7, there were quite a few upsets on the day as two-time defending champion Roger Federer was knocked out of the competition by 14th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth round.

Not just Federer, former champion Maria Sharapova and last year's finalist Marin Cilic were also beaten and sent home packing.

Following an interesting day's play at Melbourne Park, we have an exciting day coming up as big names including the likes of Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Simona Halep, to name a few, will be in action on day 8 of the tournament as they will be playing their fourth round matches.

Day 8 will have over 40 matches across all the courts at the Melbourne Park and the action will begin at 11 AM AEDT (5:30 AM IST).

The McEnroe brothers, Patrick and John, will get the proceedings underway on Rod Laver Arena as they will face local hero Todd Woodbridge and former French international Henri Leconte in the Men's Legends Doubles first round match.

2018 US Open champion Naomi Osaka will take on Anastasija Sevastova in the second match of the day before fourth seed Alexander Zverev will end the day session on RLA as he takes on 16th seed Milos Raonic.

The night session has two matches that could hog all the limelight as world no. 1 Simona Halep will play arguably the greatest ever to play the sport, Serena Williams and the final match of the day on RLA will see world no. 1 Novak Djokovic playing the 15th seed Daniil Medvedev for a place in the quarter-final.
