Day 2 at the 2025 Berlin Tennis Open (June 17) will feature some of the top women's seeds in action such as Naomi Osaka as they begin their campaigns with their respective first-round matches.

Among the seeded players, fifth-seeded Zheng Qinwen and seventh-seeded Madison Keys will begin their respective campaigns against the duo of former Wimbledon champions, Elena Rybakina and Marketa Vondrousova. Another former Major champion, Naomi Osaka, will also be in action on the day.

Former Major champion Naomi Osaka will face Liudmila Samsonova in the first round of the 2025 Berlin Tennis Open. Osaka's best result on the Tour in 2025 came at the ASB Classic, where she retired against Clara Tauson in the final. She won a Challenger Title in Saint-Malo, winning against Kaja Juvan in the final. Naomi Osaka's last event was the French Open, where she lost against Paula Badosa in the first round.

Liudmila Samsonova had her best result at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, losing against Elena Rybakina in the final. She already started her grass-court season at the Libema Open, losing 4-6, 7-5, 1-6 against Carson Branstine in the first round.

Keys has won two titles this season, including her maiden Major title in Melbourne earlier this year. Her last event was the Queen's Club Championships, where she lost 3-6, 6-7 (3) against eventual champion Tatjana Maria in the semifinal.

Marketa Vondrousova has only played 11 matches in 2025, winning 6 of them. Her best result was reaching the quarterfinal of the Abu Dhabi Open, losing 5-7, 3-6 against eventual champion Belinda Bencic. She last was in action at the French Open, losing against Jessica Pegula in the third round.
