Davis Cup, India vs Italy: Where to watch & live stream details

After the conclusion of the Australian Open, all eyes will now shift to the Davis Cup action which begins tomorrow, February 1.

India will host Italy in the Qualifiers at the South Club in Kolkata on February 1-2 in a bid to qualify for the inaugural Davis Cup Group Finals. Captained by Mahesh Bhupathi, India will hope to cause an upset over Italy on the grass courts of Kolkata.

Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Ramkumar Ramanathan have been named for the singles rubbers while Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan will be playing the doubles.

Ramanathan, who played 5 grass court tournaments last year, including a runners-up finish at the ATP 250 event at Newport, will play first against world no. 37 veteran Andreas Seppi.

Following that, India's no. 1 ranked tennis player and world no. 102 Gunneswaran will take on Matteo Berrettini. Gunneswaran recently qualified for the main draw of the Australian Open but fell to USA's Frances Tiafoe in the first round.

The doubles and the reverse singles will take place on Saturday.

Seppi, who is the most experienced player from both teams, opened up about his team's chances in the press conference ahead of the tie.

"It's going to be my first match and it's going to be a tough match on grass. We play just few weeks during the year. We did a great practice and we are ready to play. Davis Cup is a special event and we are really excited to play. I am also excited as it's my first time," he said.
