Hopman Cup, Day 6: Preview, Schedule, Time, and Where to Watch

2019 Hopman Cup - Day 4
2019 Hopman Cup - Day 4

The Hopman Cup is nearing its final stages with just one round of action to go in both the groups.

The first week has seen some scintillating action so far as the fans have witnessed their favorites out on the court at the Perth Arena in Perth.

Roger Federer and Serena Williams were on the opposite ends of the court yesterday, with Switzerland coming out on top in the end in the mixed doubles encounter after the tie being level at 1-1. It was a fascinating match which saw two of the world's best players take on each other.

With that loss, USA were knocked out of the tournament. Another favorite, Great Britain, too, have been knocked out.

Today, Germany defeated France 2-1 to put one leg into the final and knock Spain out in the process. It was a closely fought encounter though, with both, the men's singles and women's singles going the distance. In the end, it was Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber who came out on top against Lucas Pouille and Alize Cornet respectively. The French pair came back fighting in the mixed doubles but it was a little too late.

Tomorrow's encounters will see the USA take on Great Britain in a dead rubber and Switzerland take on Greece in a match to determine who will make the final.

Here is everything you need to know:

Match 1: United States of America vs Great Britan (Group B)

Time: 10:00 AWST (07:30 IST)

While Serena Williams has won both her encounters in the singles category so far, her partner Frances Tiafoe has lost both his encounters against Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece and Roger Federer of Switzerland. And unfortunately, the pair have lost both their mixed doubles encounters as well.

Great Britan, on the other hand, has performed better so far, winning their match against Greece before losing to Switzerland. However, they have been knocked out due to their poor win-loss record in games and sets. Nonetheless, it will be quite an entertaining match though and the players will give it their all to earn some pride.

Here is the schedule:

Match 1: Serena Williams(USA) vs Katie Boulter(GBR)

Match 2: Frances Tiafoe(USA) vs Cameron Norrie(GBR)

Match 3: Tiafoe/Williams(USA) vs Norrie/Boulter(GBR)

Match 2: Switzerland vs Greece (Group B)

Time: 17:30 AWST (15:00 IST)

Switzerland has one leg in the final given the fact that they have won both their encounters so far. Thus, Greece will have to earn a comprehensive win over Switzerland in order to qualify for the final. It might seem unlikely but it is not impossible.

Roger Federer has looked in great touch so far and has not lost a single set. He will up against rising star Stefanos Tsitsipas, who has won one and lost one so far. Prior to their encounter, Maria Sakkari will take on Belinda Bencic.

Here is the schedule:

Match 1: Belinda Bencic(SW) vs Maria Sakkari(GR)

Match 2: Roger Federer(SW) vs Stefanos Tsitsipas(GR)

Match 3: Federer/Bencic(SW) vs Tsitsipas/Sakkari(GR)
