Marion Bartoli has revealed that she could return to tennis following her shock retirement from the sport after winning the Wimbledon.
“You never know what is going to happen; I’m still in the rankings and I think I will be there until the end of the year and then we will see. It’s pretty hard to say I will never come back,” said Bartoli just eleven days after announcing her retirement.
Bartoli is yet to ask her name to be removed from the WTA rankings, which further hinted at her return. She claimed that the defeat to Simona Halep in Cincinnati earlier this month took a toll on her body and ignited the decision she made.
“I’m just enjoying so much the things I can do every day that I didn’t have time to do when I was a tennis player. I feel very good about it,” she added.
