Following his 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win over Tommy Paul, the Australian expressed his happiness at seeing his hard work translate into success in Acapulco.

"It feels great, it feels amazing," de Minaur said. "I know the hard work that's put in to be here and it's good to see the results.

He added that going into the Indian Wells and Miami Masters with a title win under his belt would give him more confidence and momentum at the ATP 1000 tournaments.

"It's not always that you win the tournament and you get to finish a week unbeaten, so I'll definitely cherish this going into Indian Wells and Miami," he added.

Unfortunately, Alex de Minaur was unable to replicate his success at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells as he lost his opening match to Marton Fucsovics in straight sets. The Australian will be hoping to make a better showing at the Miami Open scheduled to begin on March 23.
