Andy Roddick recently stated that his previous claim about pickleball having "no learning curve" was wrong.

Roddick has now amended his statement, describing the sport as having a smaller learning curve than tennis before adding that it had less movement and spin too. The former US Open champion went on to admit, however, that it was still a fun game to play.

"I can admit when I’m wrong. My official amendment is that pickleball is like tennis w not nearly as much learning curve, movement, spin or speed. It’s a blast to play though," Andy Roddick tweeted.

Roddick will feature in the upcoming $1 million-prize Pickleball Slam on ESPN. He will be joined at the event by fellow tennis legends Andre Agassi, Michael Chang and John McEnroe.

Roddick has also invited fans to watch him, Agassi and McEnroe in action at the premium pickleball event.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. While some argue that pickleball has a learning curve similar to tennis, most tennis professionals believe that it is not the case.

As pickleball continues to gain popularity, it will be interesting to see how players and fans react to it.

The Pickleball Slam features a $1 million purse and will air live on ESPN before the March Madness women’s championship game. Andy Roddick will be the junior member of the quartet at age 40, alongside 64-year-old John McEnroe, 52-year-old Andre Agassi, and 51-year-old Michael Chang.

The exhibition event will start with Roddick facing Chang and McEnroe taking on Agassi in the singles rubbers. This will be followed by a McEnroe-Chang vs. Agassi-Roddick doubles competition.

The Pickleball Slam is the latest attempt to draw viewers to the sport. Roddick's participation in the tournament is expected to bring more attention to the event and help popularize the sport further.

Despite the challenges of learning a new sport, Roddick is excited about the opportunity and is eager to test his skills against other legends of the game.
