Bianca Andreescu and Yulia Putintseva honor their Abu Dhabi bet, go out on dinner date with the winner paying

Yulia Putintseva turned out to be the woman of her word after she dined out with Bianca Andreescu to honor the Abu Dhabi bet.

Ahead of the Abu Dhabi Open, the duo squared off against each other in a friendly face-off. The Kazakhstani took to social media to post a few snippets from their match.

Bianca Andreescu, reshared the Instagram story and placed a bet by saying that the winner of their duel will buy dinner.

"Winner buys dinner lol," she wrote on her Instagram stories.

Later in the tournament, the Kazakhstani prevailed over the former US Open winner. Putintseva won the tie 7-6(2), 6-2 to qualify for the round of 16.

The duo recently went to dinner together in Dubai, with both the players posting pictures and uploading Instagram stories for the same.

"The match was not a success but the dinner was," Andreescu wrote on her Instagram story.

Yulia Putintseva also shared a video on her social media and wrote about dining together.

"And they went for dinner," Putintseva wrote on her story.

The former US Open winner kicked off her 2023 year with the Australian Open 2023. The former World No. 4 faced Marie Bouzkova in the opening round of the Grand Slam, whom she beat in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. In the second round, the Canadian lost to Cristina Bucsa, 2-6, 7-6(7), 6-4.

Seeded No. 1 at the Hua-Hin Championships, Bianca Andreescu reached the semifinals of the tournament. Up against Lesia Tsurenko, the 22-year-old retired mid-match while the score read 7-5, 4-0, in favor of the Ukrainian.

Having lost to Putintseva at the Abu Dhabi Open, Bianca Andreescu is set to lock horns with 2022 Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina at the Dubai Tennis Championships. In the early stages of the tournament, Dubai will witness the clash between two former Grand Slam winners.

Yulia Putintseva, on the other hand, lost in the second round of the Australian Open to Karolina Pliskova. At the Hua-Hin Championships, the 28-year-old lost in the round of 32 of the campaign.

At the Abu Dhabi Open, Putintseva lost to Beatriz Haddad Maia in the round of 16. The Brazilian won the match, 6-4, 6-7(5), 7-6(4). The Kazakhstani is set to square off against Petra Martic at the Dubai Tennis Championships
