Chris Evert empathized with Prince Harry regarding his condemnation of the British tabloids over the infringement of his privacy.
Prince Harry is currently in the UK to attend legal proceedings in his suit against the Associated Newspapers group, which publishes the Daily Mail. The Duke of Sussex is suing the publisher alongside six other claimants, including Sir Elton John, for breach of privacy. Prince Harry brought the suit on account of the Daily Mail tabloid allegedly hacking his phone, bribing the police and obtaining medical records to gain his personal and private information.
On March 29, The 38-year-old called out the "unchecked power, influence and criminality" of the Associated Newspapers group.
"I am bringing this claim because I love my country and I remain deeply concerned by the unchecked power, influence and criminality of Associated," Prince Harry said in his witness statement.
Chris Evert expressed her support for the Duke of Sussex's stance on the matter. She stated her belief that despite the presence of many excellent journalists in England, British tabloids have a tendency to behave unethically in their journalistic practices.
"There are many wonderful journalists in England, but I have to say, for the most part, the British tabloids very often are brutal and do cross the lines of integrity. I agree with Prince Harry on this one…," Evert tweeted.

Chris Evert heaped praise on Carlos Alcaraz as the 19-year-old made headway in his title defense at the 2023 Miami Open.
"I'm in awe when I watch him (Carlos Alcaraz), I'm flabbergasted. I'm just in disbelief at how well he moves, and how he improvises and adapts to certain situations," Evert said in an interview with Eurosport.
She went on to add that Alcaraz was displaying a "higher level of tennis" which could potentially challenge the level shown by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic over the course of their careers.
"I think we're seeing a new level, a higher level of tennis. You always think you've seen the greatest with Roger and Rafa and Novak, but every decade, it just seems like there appears a player that is at an even higher level than the former champion. I think this is going to be one of those decades," the 68-year-old added.
Carlos Alcaraz will take on Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open as he inches closer to completing the Sunshine Double.
