Chris Evert recently shared her admiration for Maria Sharapova's glamorous look and style at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party held on Monday, March 13.

Sharapova donned a beautifully draped olive green dress at the event. She complemented the look with black leather gloves and towering black platform heels that accentuated her height. The Russian also accessorized her outfit with three diamond tennis necklaces.

Sharapova opted for an understated and natural makeup style, with a simple and sleek side-swept hairstyle completing her overall look. She even shared some pictures from her night out at the event.

"The only place where I can get away with wearing a black pair of gloves," Sharapova captioned the pictures.

Chris Evert quickly chimed in to compliment Sharpova's stunning appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

"U look beautiful," Evert commented with a heart emoji.

Former player Mardy Fish also commented under Maria Sharapova's post and joked about his lack of an invite to the event.

"Thanks for the invite," he commented.

In a recent interview with Eurosport, Chris Evert shared her thoughts on Rafael Nadal's ability to keep his body healthy enough to compete at the 2023 French Open. Nadal has won the French Open on 14 previous occasions, including the most recent edition in 2022.

"Again, I don't think he needs to protect himself from the mental or emotional part of his game. I think it's more just keeping your body as healthy as possible," Evert said.

She added that the longer rallies, which are a staple of clay court tournaments, will be the Spaniard's biggest obstacle in succeeding at the Grand Slam.

"And you know what? The French Open again, clay, longer rallies, longer matches, the spotlight on it. That's going to be a real challenge," she said.

Chris Evert believes that while Rafael Nadal's injuries have not been as severe as those of some other players, he needs to take steps to preserve his body in the future. She stated that the Spaniard has played like a warrior, giving 100 percent both in training and in matches, which has caused a lot of wear and tear.

"His injuries have not been too catastrophic, where he stays out for a year, like many other players. But what Rafa has to do for the future is really preserve his body, because he has been a warrior and there has been a lot of wear and tear because he gives 100% in training and gives 100% in matches," Evert said.

Rafael Nadal suffered an abdominal injury during the Australian Open in January and has been absent from the ATP tour since then. However, he shared a positive update on his recovery on March 11, posting a video of himself practicing on clay.
