Daniil Medvedev's charming and entertaining persona during interviews has found a fan in former player and current tennis commentator Mark Petchey.

Following his 18th ATP title win at the Dubai Tennis Championships, Daniil Medvedev was asked which of his trophies he would rank at the top of his collection. The Russian divulged that the 2021 US Open trophy takes the top spot by virtue of being a Grand Slam title.

"So tough to say. I would have to say US Open, for sure, just because it's a Grand Slam, not even for the trophy," he said.

He then confessed that he would rank his 2019 Western and Southern Open (Cincinnati Masters) trophy next as he and his wife use it as a flower vase occasionally, much to the approval of the tournament.

"It's tough to pick top three, but I'll pick Cincinnati because we use it for flowers, when I buy my wife some flowers, so that's fun," he added.

The former World No. 1 ranked the Dubai Tennis Championships trophy next as it was the most recent addition to his collection.

Reacting to his comments, Mark Petchey praised Daniil Medvedev, stating that he is not only an exceptional player on the court, but also one of the most captivating and intriguing personalities in interviews among players on tour at the moment.

"@DaniilMedwed isn’t just the best new prototype of player of the now and the future but is one of most, if not the most, interesting player on the tour in interviews," Petchey wrote.

During the post-match press conference, Rublev also heaped praise on his compatriot for his unique behavior on the court that typically results in great humor and entertainment.

Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev will be back in action at the Indian Wells Masters next, scheduled to commence on March 11.
