Former US Open champions Emma Raducanu and Bianca Andreescu will square off in an exciting first-round encounter at the 2023 Miami Open on Wednesday.

Raducanu is fresh off a fourth-round showing at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. She avenged her loss to Danka Kovinic at last year's Australian Open by defeating her in the first round.

The Brit then scored wins over top-20 players Magda Linette and Beatriz Haddad Maia to reach the fourth round, where she lost to defending champion and World No. 1 Iga Swiatek 6-3, 6-1.

Andreescu, too, competed at Indian Wells and fell to Swiatek as well in the third round. After losing the first set, the Canadian led 4-2 in the second set, but couldn't hold on to the lead as she lost the contest 6-3, 7-6 (1).

Andreescu and Raducanu have faced off once before, in the first round of the 2022 Italian Open. The Brit dropped the opening set and trailed 2-1 in the second when she called it quits after sustaining an injury.

Both players have dealt with their fair share of health issues for quite some time, but appear to be in relatively good shape at the moment. After their last match ended on a disappointing note, fans will be eager to see them go toe-to-toe in an engaging battle this time around.
