Eugenie Bouchard recently sent a motivational message to Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid ahead of his team's Game 6 fixture against the Florida Panthers in the 2025 Stanley Cup final. The former World No. 5 expressed hopes of the NHL star bringing the championship trophy back to Canada for the first time since 1993.

The Oilers succumbed to the Panthers by a scoreline of 2-5 in Game 5 of this year's Stanley Cup final earlier on Saturday (June 14). The five-time titlists, who won their last championship in 1990, now trail their American rivals 2-3 in the seven-game tie.

With Game 6 looming on Tuesday (June 17), Eugenie Bouchard took to her Instagram account later on Saturday to send some "good vibes" to the Edmonton Oilers' captain, Connor McDavid.

The 31-year-old wanted the Oilers to go above and beyond to bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada, as the last time a Canadian team had won the NHL title was back in 1993 when the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 in the playoffs.

"Okay, here we go. 'Hey Connor, it's Genie here. I am cheering for you and the Oilers so hard right now. It has been forever since the Cup has been in Canada, actually since before I was born. The last time was '93, Montreal, and I was born in '94 so I think it's about time. Let's do this, let's get this done. I believe in you guys and I will be watching and cheering super hard,'" Eugenie Bouchard said In an Instagram reel on Saturday as she relayed her message to Connor McDavid.

Bouchard then beckoned her followers to wish the Oilers best of luck as well on their hotline.
