Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian has gushed after receiving high praise from Andy Roddick for his unwavering support and investment in women’s sports.

Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, has long been a vocal advocate for women’s sports. He is a stakeholder in Angel City FC, a club in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), and acquired the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) last year.

Talking to Bryan Brothers in a recent episode of his podcast ‘Served with Andy Roddick’, the 2003 US Open champion praised Ohanian for promoting and investing in women's sports.

"Props to Alexis Ohanian, who in tennis world might be better known as Serena Williams’ husband. He has been one of the biggest investors in women’s sport and is now getting his ‘I told you so’ moment that is well deserved,” Roddick said.

Ohanian expressed his gratitude after being praised by Roddick on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, April 17.

"Thank you, Andy Roddick!! I’m gonna keep being obnoxious about this for at least a few more years tho — warning you now!" Ohanian wrote.

The interaction between Ohanian and Roddick didn’t end there. Roddick responded to Ohanian’s tweet with a simple yet warm, "Cheers".

Ohanian replied to Roddick’s tweet by inviting him to a tennis match, saying:

"Thank you! Come over to visit us next time you’re in South Florida and we’ll get on the tennis court (I AM KIDDING I’VE STILL NEVER PLAYED)."

"More Americans watch the women's US Open final than the men" - Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian on the impact of the Williams sisters on women's sports

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian highlighted the lasting effects of marketing investment during Venus and Serena Williams' era.

"We have a great case study in American sports. If you look at the US Open, even if there is not a Williams sister in it, more Americans watch the women's US Open final than the men," he said during the Pivot Podcast (at 3:22).

Ohanian highlighted how this investment continues to yield results, as seen by the higher viewership of the women's final compared to the men's at the 2023 US Open.

"What you had in tennis two generational talents and you had a sport that was marketed to, that was invested in, that was made relevant for the American public. The American public was like yo, we love greatness we love these women, get them paid, put them on television screens and even to this day more Americans are watching the US Open Women's final than the men."
