“I'm not going to say where!" - Carlos Alcaraz playfully keeps his holiday destination a mystery as he sheds light on his off-season plans

Carlos Alcaraz recently opened up about his off-season plans. While talking about it, he revealed having plans for a holiday but playfully kept the destination a secret.

Alcaraz is currently in Italy to begin his campaign at the 2024 ATP Finals which is taking place at the Inalpi Arena in Turin. Alongside the Spaniard, players like Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev, and Alex de Minaur are playing in the singles event at the season-ending tournament.

Recently, all the players sat down with Vogue and opened up about their year both on and off the court. When asked about his off-season plans, Carlos Alcaraz mentioned that he will play an exhibition match - talking about his participation in the Charlotte Invitational on December 6, 2024, alongside players like Sloane Stephens, Madison Keys and Frances Tiafoe.

In addition to the exhibition matches, the former World No.1 revealed his plans to go on a holiday with friends. However, he kept the destination under wraps.

“I'm going to play some exhibitions and get some holidays with my friends—but I'm not going to say where!" Alcaraz said.

Carlos Alcaraz, along with Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, and Andrey Rublev have been placed in the John Newcombe Group for the 2024 ATP Finals.

In the first group stage match, Alcaraz will face Ruud, followed by matches against Rublev and Zverev in the second and third group stage matches, respectively.

Alcaraz and Ruud have met four times on the ATP tour, with the Spaniard emerging victorious in all four encounters. Their most recent clash was in the quarterfinals of the 2023 China Open, where the four-time Grand Slam champion secured a 6-4, 6-2 win.

In 2023, Carlos Alcaraz made his debut at the ATP Finals. He reached the semifinals after a rocky start and began his campaign with a 7-6, 3-6, 4-6 loss to Zverev in the first round. He then bounced back to win against Rublev 7-5, 6-2 and Medvedev 6-4, 6-4 in the second and third group stage matches respectively to earn himself a spot in the final four.

Despite his impressive run, Alcaraz fell to eventual champion Novak Djokovic in the semifinals with a score of 6-3, 6-2. The Serb then went on to defeat Jannik Sinner 6–3, 6–3 to win his seventh ATP Finals title.
