Former Swiss tennis star Martina Hingis is thrilled that she took on media responsibilities at the Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel. The ATP 500 event started on October 21 and will conclude on October 29, 2023.

During her career, Martina Hingis won a total of five Grand Slam singles titles, which included the Australian Open three times, the US Open once, and Wimbledon once.

The only major championship singles Hingis didn't win was the French Open. She held the singles world No. 1 ranking for a total of 209 weeks and the doubles World No. 1 ranking for 90 weeks.

In a social media post made on Wednesday, the former world No. 1 shared pictures of herself on the tennis court, holding a microphone. In the caption, she expressed her gratitude to the tournament director for the invitation.

"It was a great tournament in Basel! Thank you to the tournament director Roger Brennwald for inviting me once again... It was a wonderful day," she said.

Martina Hingis was last seen on the court in 2017 before retiring at the age of 37.

In October 2017, Hingis and her partner, Chan Yung-jan of Taiwan, were defeated 6-4, 7-6 by Timea Babos and Andrea Hlavackova in the WTA Finals doubles semi-final.
