Mirra Andreeva had a rough day at the 2025 French Open on Wednesday, June 4, as she suffered a surprise loss to Lois Boisson in the quarterfinals. She appeared visibly frustrated by the crowd’s hostile behavior and later spoke openly about how it affected her.

Andreeva made it to the last eight at Roland Garros for the second straight year, beating Cristina Bucsa, Ashlyn Krueger, Yulia Putintseva, and Daria Kasatkina along the way. But her run came to an end with a 6-7(6), 3-6 loss to World No. 361 and wild card entrant Boisson.

The Russian lost her temper several times during the match, partly due to her own mistakes but mostly because of the crowd’s behavior. Unsurprisingly, the home fans backed Boisson, booed Andreeva, and even loudly cheered her errors.

During a press conference after her loss, Mirra Andreeva said:

"It's normal that they would support a French player, so I knew that it's going to be like this. I think that in the first set, I managed it pretty well. I didn't really pay attention to that, but obviously, with nerves and with pressure, it became a little harder. But, anyway, I think that I can learn from this.”

Had Andreeva won today, she would have faced Coco Gauff in the French Open semifinals. Gauff booked her spot with a hard-fought three-set win over fellow American Madison Keys.
