The 18-year-old Russian teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva is signalling to be the next big thing in professional tennis with her power-packed performance. Andreeva recorded her best performance of the season by lifting her maiden WTA 1000 title. She registered a win against Clara Tauson (7-6, 6-1), thus becoming the youngest champion after Nicole Vaidišová. With the win, she reached the career-high ranking of No. 6 on March 17, 2025. Her triumphs continued as she defeated No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka at the 2025 Indian Wells Masters.

Mirra Andreeva Early Life
Andreeva was born in Krasnoyarsk, Russia on April 29, 2007, to Raisa Andreeva. She started playing tennis at the age of six with her elder sister, Erika Andreeva. Her mother, Raisa Andreeva, introduced her to the sport after she fell in love with the game, watching Marat Safin at the 2005 Australian Open. During her initial days, she used to train at the Siberia Tennis Academy.
Later, Andreeva moved to Sochi to hone her tennis skills and finally shifted to Cannes to set up a training base for herself where Daniil Medvedev used to train. She played her first WTA match at the 2022 Jasmin Open, where she lost to Anastasia Potapova. The match lasted for two hours and 35 minutes.
