Rafael Nadal celebrated Team Spain's triumphant 3-0 win against Team Czechia in the group stages of the 2024 Davis Cup final rounds. The 38-year-old is one of the most decorated players in the tournament's history with five titles.

Team Spain is placed in Group B alongside Team Czechia, Team Australia, and Team France. While Australia defeated France 2-1 in the opening match of the group, Spain and Czech Republic butted heads in the second match.

Veteran Roberto Bautista Agut scored a stunning win over rising talent Jiri Lehecka 7-6(1), 6-4 to put Spain on the board following which Carlos Alcaraz and Tomas Machac were leveled at 6-7(3), 6-1 in the second match. However, the match came to an unfortunate end when Machac had to retire due to an injury.

In the final match, Carlos Alcaraz and Marcel Granollers teamed up to take on Jakub Mensik and Adam Pavlasek. The topsy-turvy hard-fought encounter came to an end with Alcaraz and Granollers clinching a 3-0 sweep for Spain by winning 6-7(2), 6-3, 7-6(2). The win has also placed Team Spain at the top of Group B for now.

Rafael Nadal, who lifted the coveted Davis Cup trophy five times (2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2019) took to Instagram to celebrate Team Spain's strong start to the Davis Cup finals. He reshared the Real Federation Espanola de Tennis' post on his story and added three bicep flexing emojis.

Rafael Nadal withdrew from the 2024 US Open via a message on his social media. He then confirmed that his tournament would be the 2024 Laver Cup in Berlin.

"Thanks to all my US Fans in particular, will miss you all and will see you another time. Best of lucks to all for the always amazing US Open! My next event will be the Laver Cup in Berlin," he said.

On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz had a disappointing campaign at the New York Major as he was ousted by Botic Van de Zandschulp in straight sets in the second round. After the Davis Cup Final group stages, he will join the 22-time Major champion, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev to represent Team Europe at the Laver Cup, which begins on September 20.
