Norwegian tennis star Casper Ruud recently announced his engagement to his girlfriend of six years, Maria Galligani, sparking waves of congratulations from fans and friends alike. Among those celebrating the joyous occasion was Maribel Nadal, sister of Rafael Nadal and Deputy General Director of the Rafa Nadal Academy, where Ruud once trained.
Galligani, a psychologist with a Master’s degree from the University of Southern Denmark, balances her career with supporting Ruud through the highs and lows of his tennis journey. Their engagement was announced after an intense tennis season for Ruud, capped by a semifinal finish at the ATP Finals in Turin, where he fell to eventual champion Jannik Sinner.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Ruud shared stunning photos of the couple's engagement, which took place on November 20, 2024. The beachside snapshots captured Ruud in a light pink shirt and white pants, while Galligani looked radiant in a simple white dress. They officially announced their engagement to the public on November 26, 2024.
"Can’t wait to marry you," Ruud captioned his post, while Galligani shared the same photos with the caption, "The easiest yes of my life... 20.11.2024."
Maribel Nadal joined the flood of congratulations by leaving a warm message on Instagram:
"Congratulations," she wrote.
